John Barton ain't gettin 15-4!!!

He plays where some of the best one pocket players in MD play he mentions cigar tom Tom Vanover who at one time could play with the top one pocket players in the country also the piano man and Henry who play real sporty ,, I'm sure Black Balled and Jam probaly know who he is

Correct on all counts. But I suck! They will all tell you that. And they all will tell u I'm great to gamble with what's ur point?

I am not great to gamble with. Outside of once in 14 year grudge matches I don't really bet that much any more. I figured out that gambling on pool is at best a 50% proposition to make a profit but making pool cue cases is a 100% sure thing.

I'd rather do that and have the dead nuts and just gamble for fun money nowadays. $100 a game is about the most I bet these days. I am about to try someone 8 ahead in one hole for $1000 so you can see it's really not even worth it to bark at me.

However if you're ever in OKC just look me up and I will be sure to bet at least enough to give you some gas money. :-)

Well I'm glad you said this because when I met you few yrs back you seemed much different in person than you have sounded on line dating back to Bobby C and followed up with Lou and all the hoopla that's transpierd since then
I know some people that know you bought cases from you who speak highly of you and I am baffled at why you take everything online to such extremes

I get pissed at people who are bullies online. Bobby Chamberlin and Lou are both bullies.

At the very end of the match with Lou you can see us conversing. I put out my hand and asked if that could be the end of it. Lou admitted that he was very harsh back in the RSB days.

If you were to give my posting an honest appraisal you would see that nearly always I start out every conversation politely and on topic. Yes I have been guilty of going off on people but 99% of the time I am not the one who is an asshole first.

I was raised to say yes sir and yes maam and I hold those values to this day. But my mother while instilling that in me also told me not to take shit from anyone and she didn't. So if you want to know why I dig in when I think it's the right thing to do, that's why.

I know that most people are nice people offline. Almost everyone I have ever met with whom I have had any sort of argument online has turned out to be cordial and nice. Only two people have been as big of assholes offline as they come across online.

I personally think that there is something about distance which allows people to say things, me included, that would get them popped in the head if they tried it in person. My guess is that the safety of being behind the keyboard releases the natural inhibition against violence that comes with in person conversation.

I am actually very good to gamble with but not in the sense that Bmoremoney means it. I am not a huge gambler and have never pretended to be. The most I have played for pre-Lou was $600 a game in one pocket and $2500 a set in 9 ball. I broke even in one pocket after having my opponent stuck $3000. And I lost two sets in the 9 ball.

Playing for 10k was heavy for me even if the loss was absorbed into the business expenses. I was out in Vegas this year and Doyle Brunson was playing nine ball for $4000 a game against another poker player and that wasn't even the biggest action in the poolroom. I can't imagine betting that kind of money even if I had it to bet.

About the only thing I am willing to do in that realm is the 20k match with Lou. And perhaps not even that as the enthusiasm fades. Part of me really wants to see myself play better than I did and the other part is like screw it - you took your shot and didn't get there so forget it and move on. We will see what the future holds in that regard.

Publicly calling out someone who has never seen you play, and asking for a huge spot no less is poor taste. Especially since JB's game is on-line for review.

I'd call it hustling if it wasn't so simplistic, transparent and crude.

Maybe. Please understand jb inviteded me to okc to play first.

Bmore.....

Does Tom still play at all? Haven't been up there since the early 90s. By then he was no longer playing with those crazy cut-down ferrules.

Serious question, Scott

Iaimt gonna be u. For real I play I don't play for less than a hundred a game. Its just fun that's how o look at it. The most I've played for was a race to four for 10k. I'm just trying to have a goos time that's all.

Not really. He is 75 + now and he still plays but only with friends. No more challenges.

Then pack up and go... Just may be shooting your toothpick at another toothpick since John's open nose tends to clot up at about the $500 mark when his brain kicks back in most of the time....

The Lou match was one thing and I am not so sure John would keep the fire burning to really get a 2nd episode to the finish line.. He knows what he did wrong and it would mean lots more work this time to do it right and he has a company to run and a family to raise... Maybe the new shop will get him more playing time but it still may not be the needed amount...

What I still can't get over that you are more or less barking anon and expecting anything but more barking back... Even IF he overextends and you think you trapped him no one will think twice or bad about him if he pulls up on you if you turn out to be a better player than you let on...

Least thats my view from the cheap seats =D

I am sure I invited you AFTER you said something about playing me. You're still invited. Getting 15:4 I will even try to bet more. ;-)

You don't even have to bring id. If you happen to look like a short Filipino from Canada that's ok as well.

FYI, jb challenged me..

I am sorry I don't remember that. Perhaps you could post a link to this challenge?

Maybe I did. For the record, I challenge every human being alive to give me 15:4 for $500 a game.

I will try it. I have to. I saw Dippy lose, I saw Dippy win. I play better than Dippy I think.

I have also had my ass handed to me by Cliff Joyner getting 11-4 with him taking 8 fouls before he got a shot. So perhaps I am overstepping quite a bit.

That was in 2001 though and I would hope I know a little bit more about one hole now.

So since you say I challenged you, ok if I did then it stands at you giving up 15:4 I will play you, whoever you are.

What you are missing sir is I don't need his money nor does he need mine. Jistmsome barking for some fun. The couple thou either he or I blow is fun and just that. I actually have nothing personal against jb, I'm just some guy stirring the pot I play. I gamble. That's enough. Enjoy.

Honestly I think it was the thread that got closed. You said something to the effect of wanting to gamble with me for some real money 15-4. Or I could come to OKC to play u even for 100 a game which I declined for obvious reasons.

:-) I got you.

Yeah I might have said I would take 15:4 for a lot :-) I have to say that when talking to people I don't know.

I wouldn't expect anyone to travel to okc for me for a piddly hundred a game. But if you came and we figured out a fair game between us then would give you at least that action.

Honestly though, when it comes to one pocket....in OKC I have a longer line of people waiting to play me than you see at the welfare office on the first.

If they were giving out free tvs at Wal-Mart there would be less people in line than want to play me one pocket in oklahoma city. And if we include norman, midwest city, stillwater, edmond, and the homeless shelter that number goes into the thousands. :-)
