Yes, don't think I'll watch that dvd when I get it.I remember when he racked the balls in the 14.1 event but this was totally different.

He got disgusted and he was still in the match. Think Cheng was only at 9 or 10 going to 13.
Each turn at the table he just got up and took a random whack at the balls. No aim nothing.
Happened about 5 times.
SJM was table side. Hope he chimes in.
Was embarrassing. Especially in this (expenses paid) tournament.

I'd have to say that's my first time having seen Darren Appleton so upset and fed up with a match. He usually has a very determined/calm demeanor about himself, even when the odds are against him. If we all could control our emotions as well as Ralf Souquet, wouldn't that be something?!?!
Imagine Earl with the calm of Ralf and Ralf putting on the part of a "Pissed off Earl" during a match lol.... That'd be priceless!!

Aye, you are correct. These guys want it more than any of us can really relate to, having not relied upon pool as a career to retire from! It's extremely hard to keep your facial expressions a secret when you're boiling over on the inside!

It is not the first time I have seen Darren getting into this state of mind! I find it embarrassing too. I like Darren, don't get me wrong. But, as a top world professional being invited to such a great event and then behave like this, is a no-go in my eyes.
Thing is, I can somehow understand he got frustrated in his match against kevin and let that one go. Although it was only 6:10 iirc and winner-break.... But coming back a couple of hours later, playing Earl for a respectable 1'000 $, and still be pissed at the table, is a lack of psychological skills Darren should be equipped with at this level.

Actually, it was a bit over 5 hours between the end of his match with Cheng and the start of his match with Strickland. So he had plenty of time for recovery and reflection.
I'm wondering if his back is hurting him. But even if it is, or even if he has something else unknown to us going on in his life, this was sad to see.
