Real Pool Reality Show crowdfunding

It has to be done by players.

No offence , but if your idea is so great why don't you finance it yourself ?

The long answer is that if it isn't financed by players and their fans and friends, it will not work. The guys that put in money always find out that they can't make what they want and leave. And the players are always left behind.

The short answer is that I'm just trying to sell video streams.

And if you don't want to be offensive, don't ask crappy questions like that. Because you probably know the answer.

Sir,
You are the one of the most negative haters on this forum. Nothing is good enough for you. I don't know where you got Ross Lacey's girlfriend, but making things up to suit your argument doesn't work. It's any players that wants to participate will help this idea. If you're talking about Finnegan, he probably is known by more people in this country for being a pool player because of that show than people who know who Shane is.

So hate who you want, but I've never in the years on this forum ever heard anything from you but hate and ridicule. If you don't like what is happening, just don't participate. Don't poison everyone else.

Jim

I'm a realist. Block me if you don't want to read it.

First don't post in a public forum if you don't like the response you get. Second, if you don't like the response - get a better idea.

And if not Ross girlfriend - please list the player's names again. I tried to google your stellar idea and guess what - nothing came up. Brilliant job so far.

You want to compare Finnegan to SVB. You have raised a whopping $75 so far in how many days? Care to wager of SVB posted stating he needed funds for a pool tourney or project how much he could raise in 6 hours.

Well you would think they would spend $13 on a website and lock in www.thenewhustlers.com before someone else goes to GoDaddy and gets it. This way they could supply more info on the matches, the players and the producer.

Just as I thought. You didn't even look at the video. You just have to down it before you even know what it is. The problem is that SVB as you call him is probably one of the few players in the country that makes money. That shouldn't be. Many more players have to make money for this to be something to do as a profession.

I thought this was a forum where new ideas to help pool would get a fair shake. But it seems to be where ideas slowly get pulled into the toilet.

By the way. Since you're in with SVB, tell him to get a team together and come and play Strickland and the others. Maybe you'll part with that precious $10 you've been saving for the right idea.

It's $75 because people like you listen to people like you.

And what is your good idea to help pool, by the way?

And what is your good idea to help pool, by the way?

I know this wasnt addressed to me... but I just want to know, why does everyone have to have an idea to help pool? Is it wrong to just like Pool how it currently is. The god damn game is hard enough. The last thing I want is a poolhall filled with teenagers that are now doing the popular thing all playing better then me because they have no responsibilities whatsoever.

Let pool stay where it is. Personally, I like it there. I know I'm the minority here but I just like the under the radar seediness of it.

I have heard of 8 players on that list. One of them - Finnegan - is a C player. Ross would be a low A from what I saw on TV - maybe.

And they have 16 players on this list and have raised $75? But my negative comments is the reason why no one has donated? Don't they have any friends. Tony Robles is s great guy - I can only think he doesn't know he is involved or hasn't put his heart into it cause if it was a legitimate idea he could get some backing.

And nice try on the $10 comment by JimM. Let's see - I promoted, organized and ran 6 tournaments last year (outside of pool) with a total prize fund of about $175k but yeah, I don't know what I am doing. Your effort is $75. Let me know when you catch up. (BTW - I could do the same for pool if I had the inclination -- the $175k not $75 :). )

Asking why don't you finance your own ideas is a crappy question ?
Well that's a first

My question wasn't meant to be crappy, It was asked to know if you could finance it yourself and if you believe in your own ideas to the point your are willing to risk your own money.

How much will the stream cost? Why not set a price for the stream and a percentage goes back to the players to gamble with? That way the players are invested in marketing your product.

Well, I guess what you are doing isn't really helping anyone. Maybe you. Because pool is in the worse shape than it has been in 50 years.

Since you're doing so well in making money, pitch in $10 and see what I can do with it. Or would that be against your downer agenda?

The fact is that tournaments of that kind don't really make money for many players. Especially not to live on. Usually the people who run the tournaments do much better. If 64 players put in $100 to play and only 16 get paid, that's 48 players who lost money. Good deal isn't it.

Who is the promoter of this event and how did the players get picked?

Who is the promoter of this event and how did the players get picked?

I guess I'm the promoter. I put together the New York team and Finnegan put the Queens team together. It's a reality show and I'm trying to do something different than just a table in the middle of the room.

Jim

That's it

That's exactly the idea. 80% of anything we collect for the stream beforehand will go into the pot for the first game.

After the video is produced, each player will have a playlist where their friends and fans can buy the video. From those sales 80% will go directly to the player.

It is an incentive to promote themselves as well as the game.

How would money from the masses support pool? Other then putting money in your pocket and a handpicked group of players that most of us have only heard of a few? Wouldn't it be better to support a event that more player can play in or one with all pros?
