Thought I was ready...ran into a freight train. Tomorrow I will take lessons from it. Today, just licking wounds and cursing a lot.

hope yours was not as bad as mine. i received a 7-0 thrashing. then i realized i had no where to go but up.

i still lose pretty often but not as bad as the 1st time. most of my losses are now of the 7-4...7-5 variety with a few that have been hill - hill losses.

i managed a 50% win record last session but this session is at only 28% but have quite a way to go before the end of session.

I was in the same boat in my first masters match. It did indeed inspire me to improve every aspect of my play. I bought Mark Wilsons book and changed everything beginning with my stance and approach to the ball.

I still get my butt whooped but I'm a lot more competitive.

Good luck going forward!

Losing always sucke, but sometimes it lights a fire in ya too.

I hate that fire, it always makes me want to do drills and practice for hours and hours...

I usually down 4-5 beers real quick to put it out before it can do any real damage.

I haven't played masters for a few years. When I did I did pretty well and then I faced Ronnie Park. He just folded me up like a lawn chair playing absolutely beautiful to the tune of 7-1. It may sound weird but I actually enjoyed watching someone play perfect pool even if I was in the worst seat in the house watching it.

The game I won, he missed the nine and I cut table length on the short rail. I broke, made balls and missed the one. All other games were B&Rs by Ronnie.
