Need some advice on a Global Concorde.

Let me first thank everyone for the help and positive responses I have received both here and via PM.

Not being a professional table mechanic my initial post and some of my subsequent follow up posts may have been confusing as after re reading them I noticed that I did bounce around a bit in what this table was actually in need of. Being familiar with Valley style bar box tables I was used to rails that detached from the cabinet individually and therefore was looking for clarification as to if this table was similar in that respect.

When I brought up replacing the rails with either Ridgebacks or factory global I was thinking like a Valley table where most of the operators in my area just put precovered rails on and take the old rails back to their shop and recover them at a later time to use on a different table. Which I see now led to a lot of confusion.

The entire question could have been simplified by me by asking if I could break the top down into 4 pieces or more to make flipping the rails over easier than flipping the entire top the several times it would have to be done during the process. For that I apologize.

Now to address something else that has come up in this thread. My statement in regards to ribbons and chevrons was in no way meant to compare to anyone else. It was meant as a statement to say that unless you were MY superior officer you do not have the right to talk down to me and belittle me.

Also RKC while I respect any man or woman that puts on the uniform no matter what their branch of service or MOS might be, how long they served for or if they ever served in combat, I find it highly disrespectful that you would ever attempt to mislead someone into thinking you served in a theatre of conflict if in fact you did not.

It is highly disrespectful to myself and anyone else who did in fact have boots on the ground conducting combat operations and more importantly those that have paid the ultimate price as such!

I served with the 1st of the 8th Cav, 1st Cav Div, Air mobile, enlisted March 13th, 1974....served 9 + yrs...now what does that have to do with disrespecting ANYONE else who has served in the military....and what does any conversation about military service have to do with your lack of knowledge when it comes to working on pool tables? Please, do NOT bring military service into this conversation like it entitles you to some special treatment or respect for learning how to work on pool tables, because it don't!

I should flat out turn your rep points all red for your last sentence:rolleyes:

I earned mine during Vietnam if that what you want to compare yours to, so don't talk about something you know nothing about....like you do!

You have already proven in a single thread that you are a liar and cant keep your stories straight.

"Direct U.S. military involvement ended on 15 August 1973"

Oh no please don't give me negative rep on an internet forum.......:killingme::killingme::sad::rotflmao1:

Be careful, don't disgrace yourself to much, by showing to much immaturity here on AZB;)

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/u-s-withdraws-from-vietnam Here's a free education buddy, fighting in Vietnam didn't end until June 1975

First off if you are going to try to quote a website to back up your lie maybe you should do YOUR research. The last US Combat troops left Vietnam on March 28th 1973.

The fighting you speak of was between the north and south and ended with the "Fall of Saigon" on April 30th 1975, In the weeks leading up to the fall of Saigon, the United States organized the evacuation of Americans and South Vietnamese orphans and refugees from the city. On April 29 and 30, the United States frantically rescued all remaining Americans and some Vietnamese via helicopter.

The US had not had combat troops nor did it conduct any combat operations either offensive or defensive for nearly two years previous to the date you are attempting to use. That was almost a year to the day before you even entered service.

The only person to disgrace themselves here is you with your holier than thou attitude, your ridicule of others, and your out right lies in regards to your service.

Were you even born when I served in the Army....or still safe between your daddies legs?

Nope I was not born yet I probably was not even a thought in my fathers mind.

Now that we have that out of the way, how does my birth have anything to do with your lie?

I know its hard to keep track of your lies but try to stay on subject here.

Has a lot to do with the fact that I was active duty and served during the Vietnam War era and you weren't even born at the time, but you feel confident enough to tell me what I was doing at that time....and you were no where around...that's to funny;) you really need to grow up!

Your telling me to grow up and yet you completely miss the point of all of this.

You claimed to have "Earned" your ribbons and stripes during Vietnam...That statement was misleading at best and a down right lie at worst. Its what most Vet's would refer to as Stolen Valor.

You then tried to back up your statement by using cable television networks internet article that again proved your statement wrong.

Now your story changes to having served in the Vietnam War era, which again is a misleading statement as US combat involvement ended a year previous to your enlistment.

Not once have I tried telling you what you were doing at the time. I was pointing out the inconsistencies in your story plain and simple.

Anyway I am done. This thread has gone completely off topic at this point and I have no further reason to continue to post in it or deal with you.

I don't really care what you think, I know what I did in my active duty time, and you my dear boy...are the one single person derailing your own thread over military service records....who gives a f%&* I got out of the Army 33 years ago, I've been working as a pool table technician for the last 32+ years. Lets see how long you last....Cuz you have a LONG way to go, and at the rate you're going....you won't last to long, this job decides who stays and who goes....not you!

Would a different source be helpful? Maybe one that has a reputation for accuracy? Well, here ya go.

http://www.pbs.org/battlefieldvietnam/timeline/index4.html

RKC said he earned his stripes during Vietnam. During is not the same is in. If you read at that as in Vietnam, well that's your mistake, not his. The fact of the matter is the US still had troops on the ground in 1975, no matter how much you want it to be untrue. Two Marines were killed on April 30, 1975 in Saigon, and these are considered the last US casualties of the war, even though the war had been "over" for 2 years. So before you go accusing someone of being a liar, maybe you should get your facts straight.

Sure, RKC got a little snippy. Can you blame him? You yourself pointed out how confusing your questions were. It looked to me like you kept asking variations of the same questions even after they had been answered. I know I'd get a little tired of that when giving free advice, and I imagine you would too. Don't forget, he was trying to help you. People like you, trying to fix a table as a favor, cost people like him money, yet he was still trying to help.

Once again another well thought out and written reply stating nothing but facts!! :bow-down::bow-down: A greenie coming your way, sir.
