I once saw a 4 point clapp, where the points were made from butterfly inlays. Colors weren't to my like but the cue was very cool!

I've heard some different stories about this guy, but I bought my first custom cue from TheSleeve, and it was a BEAUTIFUL Klapp cue. He makes some VERY nice stuff for that style of cue. Never met the man personally, but he builds a nice cue. Last I was told he is no longer building though. Does anyone have any info on this fellow?

best,

Justin

Steve's gearing up to go back into production. He announced in an earlier thread that he's taking refinishing orders right now. When he gets the river of wood flowing again, expect some great things. He's got a fertile mind & uses top-notch woods.

That wood he picked up has one helluva a story behind it. If anyone calls Steve, do yourself a favor & ask about that old wood.

Steve is a great guy to work with and makes a great cue as well! Below is a link to an old post showing 2 cues (including a butterfly) I ordered from Steve and a Palmer restoration that he did for my buddy.

Another guy to check out is Chris Byrne in Denver. Chris makes a super nice butterfly.

If I recall correctly both Klapp and Byrne both spent some time with Bludworth. (?)

Good Luck!

Your info is a little skewed... Your thinking of Sam Escobar, Steve's partner. He built all of L. Bludworth's cues along with Donald and some other guy, from the early 90's on.
