Simonis X1 removes felt?

Just bought a Simonis X1 to use on my cloth. The table is about a month old and has Simonis 860 on it which I have been brushing and vacuuming regularly. The X1 did what it said - removed chalk marks - but it also removed some felt. When I finished using it there was felt dust all over the edge of it. I wasn't pressing hard by any means.

Anyone else have one and had the same experience? Should I be concerned?

I have Simonis 860 and a X-1 and do not have any problem. My guess is that it is picking up some of the damage you created by brushing and vacuuming. Just use the A-1 and once any loose fibers are gone this should not continue to occur.

No issue with mine on tournament blue. I hit it with the X1 frequently and vacuum with an airy upholstery attachment weekly...

What's a airy upholstery attachment?

Something kind of like this, but the one I have is shaped so it's not possible to have the entire thing flat, so it can't create enough suction to pull the cloth up. Works really well and is shaped so I can even get under the rails...

I'll give that a try. I have been using the brush attachment on my vacuum so maybe thats the issue. I have the airy type upholstery attachment.

Thanks

Never heard of of your problem before.
Been using an X-1 since it came out.

Are you sure the dust is from the cloth and not chalk dust that has been stirred up?
The gizmo brings chalk to the surface - electrostatic attraction.
If you aren't using it on new cloth, it may be bringing up chalk that was embedded.

Keep using it for a few months and give us an update.
