Thanks Robin for the kind words.., the hobby horse is in for repair....it's actually a clothes rack that my Dad made by hand about 45 years ago for my brother and me to use and is now used by my 27 yr old son. It got some battle scars for sure.

I have one of those Jet air filters and the stupid circuit board stopped working. Now it's hard wired. I also have a JDS and a Powermatic. The Powermatic is easily the nicest and best built.

I gotta say, this Jet seems well built. My shop is only 13ft x 21 ft, so it does a great job. I even have a Remote....just like my TV...

This is what I use and I consider myself on the hobbyist side of things. Can never be careful enough with the dust. I use a homebuilt down draft box for ALL of my sanding and I put the air cleaner right above the most dust creating lathe. I try to collect as much chips/dust as I can before it goes airborne. I also use a trash can cyclone lid with a baffle to catch all the heavy stuff so it won't clog the hepa filter I have on the collector. My system is piped around the shop to 5 stations.
