Easy Drill...But one slip up and your upset!

My Master Instructor and I did this weekly.

This seems easy, but it separates those with real mental control and pool skills quite quickly.

Place an object ball on the foot spot and take ball in hand and shoot the ball into the corner pocket. Draw straight back and place another ball on the foot spot. Shoot it in and repeat the process. You must leave the cue ball where it lands for each shot. You are allowed to change which pocket you shoot the object ball during the drill, you do not have to go into the same corner every time. Count how many balls you can shoot in before you miss. Seems simple enough.

I am an APA 7 with over 1800 matches. (30 years). My best is 87. I tested 4 other 7s and 5 other 6s for hours. The best I saw was 17.

I love this drill. Have a friend spot the balls for you.

so if you're allowed to change pockets (which i don't see how if you're drawing) then does that mean that banks count also until you miss? which would kind of mean that the drill is that you draw all shots until you miss.

Another similar, although much harder drill is this:

Same initial setup - OB on spot and CB about a foot away..
Shoot OB into corner and draw back
CB cannot hit a rail, ever
Leave CB where it stops after each shot and replace OB to spot

Most people can't get 5 in a row
My record is 56 but my "spotter" quit and walked away because his back hurt :)

Its not too bad once you get the feel for drawing a very short distance and hitting center pocket every time.. lol

isn't that the same drill except his allows for going off line?

How far back do you have to draw the CB? I think Wybrook is right.
