Like last year, I will hold three open tournament at Super Billiards Expo 2016.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7PM.

Race to 5, single elimination.
Winner of the lag breaks.
First player scores 5 wins.
$20 entry fee, buy back available at first round if there is spot.
Break and run out, $100 bonus.
1st $1000, 2nd $250, 3rd $100. Trophies.(based on 32 players.)

Thanks for $1500 donation from Dennis Dieckman.

See you at the Expo.

Thanks to Yura, Paul, and Dennis in their efforts to help keep our beautiful sport front and center. Most pool players are unaware or uneducated about our sport. Life does exist beyond 8 ball and 9 ball. Please try to make it to Allen Hopkin's SBE. The best players, the best cue makers, and the best billiard suppliers will be there.

Thanks for the link. I couldn't tell, from the OP, where this was taking place.

did you get 32 players all three nights last year? who won each night last year?
what was the payout last year? is this just for pool players playing in the tournament?
did/do pro carom players play?

sounds like fun. the payout seems top heavy. is that to encourage more entrants?

Last years payout might be found with a search on http://professorqball.com/ Last year to my memory there were only much smaller added donations (mostly Yura since he hates making a money) so the payouts were smaller than they will be this year thanks to Dieckman.

This is an Open Tournament if run like last year. That being said, the short game is a major equalizer. Yura held a "Challenge the Champion" Race to 3 against 2 of our best players Hugo Patino and Mazin Shooni. If you won Yura awarded you with a very nice Hanbat cue. I'd say he handed out 15 - 20 cues in 2 days. Maybe more, I lost count.

Playing for a $1000 with a $20 entry fee IMO is a good bet in a short 5pt game. Where would you find those odds anywhere in the building much less the Country playing pool. Or 3Cushion for that matter.

Sorry Yura, The truth hurts sometimes.
