It's a pivot based aiming method that is said to be 'an objective aiming system' that when utilized takes the shooter to the shot line with a built in slight over cut to counter collision induced throw so that the ball goes center pocket & that is for all 1, 2, 3 etc. rail bank shots too.
The balls are said to be connected to the table so that they present themselves differently when on different parts of any 2:1 ratio table. If the table is not a 2:1 ratio table the 'system" will not work.
It is said to be an objective system & does not rely on any of one's subjectivity in order for the 'system' to take the shooter to that center pocket shot line by means of that built in slight over cut to counter collision induce throw.
The hub bub regarding it is that some, like myself, say that the description of 'an objective aiming system' is not accurate & that it does require one's subjectively learned interpretations & input in order to arrive at the correct shot lines just like all other methods do.
The reason is because there are at least 90 shot lines that are possible to come up during the game & the objective indicators are too few even with a defined pivot in each direction to thin or thicken the line.
The 'dispute' regarding the aspect of whether it is 'an objective aiming system' or not has been going for many years.
I think that will give you an idea of what it is said to be & what it is said to not be depending on what side is doing the telling.

I've gone on the record as saying CTE might not work exactly as described. That there might be some subconscious elements involved. It's practically impossible to tell either way, because nobody can tell when the subconscious is actually taking over.
I know that when I USED to be a CTE user, it definitely felt as though I was in complete control. If it takes believing it's 100% objective with no feel involved for current and new users to benefit from the system, then I fail to see the harm.
