Vintage cue found

I agree with you on restoration. Some don't like a refinish. If a restoration improves it, I would do it.

Steve Mizerak's Dove cue was refinished several times. Very few know it, as they didn't see it in person in the 70s and 80s. This is one cue that could stand a spa treatment from a master. There are a few. In the end, it shows the cue in its best form.

All the best,
WW

I agree, especially since he picked a grandmaster to work on it. It will be a stunner soon.

Preserve when possible.
Restore when necessary.
Repair when necessary.

It seems the cue is in need of some repairs and restoration. The cue can be preserved at the same time if expertly done. Obviously one would only want a master to do any work on it.

I like how you decorated for the occasion of the picture. The background lights really accentuate the cue nicely.

Seriously though, amazing find.

Could't we just make a systematic search of all the basements and backrooms of all the bars and old pool halls in the country? Shouldn't take too long...

Agreed.....imagine all the history that's lying around just wasting away unappreciated.
This cue was kept in a pile of other cues wrapped up in tape and rubber bands (all crap imports) on top of an old pizza oven in the kitchen....no joke

A pizza oven!

Thankfully it didn't get cooked!

Crap imports? Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing those. :p:D:rolleyes: :grin-square: :grin-square:

He's VERY lucky... Many older pizza oven are vented out the top/back of the oven. very surprised it didn't have more damage...

Lol. The oven was also out of commission for many years it seemed...don't think it spent it's better days up there ....it was once probably hanging out with the mops having a party
