I'm getting an allergic reaction from using this product, Is there another product that is more user friendly and may not cause the reaction?

I do have a full face respirator and gloves, I just don't like wearing the respirator.

Thanks

I knew someone who had this problem and he wasn't able to be around epoxies at all. Is this the first time you've used epoxies?

I feel your pain. I have become very allergic to the west system epoxies. I had to go to a full hood forced air system when I use the epoxies now. I have been told that the effects are cumulative, so I don't risk using them without the hood and a tyvek suit.

West system

Need more details.

Well for the last couple of months I've been having allergic reactions where my eyes swell up and get red splotches in other areas. Have ruled out medications, and dust. The other day I glued up some veneers with west system the next morning allergic reaction again. Just started building cues again also just started using west system for most everything. Back in the old days I used titebond for most everything. I really like the west system stuff and was wondering if there is another product that works as well.
I'm retiring soon and have built a couple of CNC machines and was hoping to build a few cues a year to keep me busy during the winter. But if I can't get by this allergy thing I'll have to come up with a new plan.

Are you sure it's the epoxy?
When I first started building cues I went through the same thing. It turned out I was allergic to Cocobolo.
Just wanted to share.

My symptoms are the same as your. I started developing blisters on my eyelids also. I also have some wood allergies (cocobolo is awful for me) but 90 percent sure it is the epoxy. Older hardener seems more toxic with fumes, so I would suggest always making sure that is very fresh. The forced air system seems to work for me. Here is the link to the system that I purchased.

Hope this helps,
