Beside your hand position, what do you do differently on a break on a barbox vs a 9ft table?

Barbox, I break off the back rail, about a half diamond away from the rail, and about a half diamond to the right from center. Ill move a little if Im not making any balls, but thats my barbox break.
Big table, I break from the corner of the box. Depending on whats going, I might move closer to the rail etc.

Do you use the same power? or do you use less on barbox?

Rule of thumb, the same speed (roughly 20mph), I do vary if the table doesnt like a hard break though. You just have to be careful on the barbox with cue elevation. Its easier to catch a bad hop, and ANY error in not hitting the head ball squarely is sending the cb off the table.

I break the same being that 99% of the time I play on a barbox. However, when I do play on the larger table I don't change anything.

I typically put the cue ball one ball from 2nd diamond line and one ball from rail aiming at the outside edge of the back ball you are angled at thus hitting the 2nd ball.

If the person I am playing is not racking well or the balls just don't seem to move, then I will put the cue ball at about the 1st diamond about a few inches to the side of the center-line of the table and break almost straight on with the goal of getting the cue ball to come right back down the center of table.

I break quite a bit harder on my 9' table than a barbox but I make sure that I am not breaking so hard that I lose control of the cue ball. I work hard at making sure I can put the cue ball in the center of the table. It doesnt do much good to make 5 balls on the break if the cue is frozen to the short rail and you do not have a shot. I always break with the cue ball at the kitchen line, I usually start in the center, usually 1 or 2 balls will drop in side pockets, if that is not working I start moving to the right 1/2 diamond at a time until I can consistently drop a ball.

I never alter my hand positions as it relates to behind the head string,as if I were lining up a normal shot, approx. 7". Only the cue ball's position for the break. That determination comes within the scope of warming up, and observing other players on that table. When moving to a side rail for breaking I find the position which allows me the same "at rest" position(Distance from Bridge Hand to Cue Ball) as I would have behind the string.Roughly 7". It works for me,each player must find their sweet spot through trial and error. That's the beauty, and frustrations with pool. GL.
