I want to buy the vintage Joss in the images attached from an online seller. Can anyone comment if it's authentic and the period or model? Thanks.

it's not that old, but it's a Joss for sure. I think if you email them the serial number off the joint Joss can tell you what you need to know. Except secondary market value

If there is a serial # on the joint yes. Send that # to Joss cues via their form on their web site. They will have a history.

Thanks guys. I don't have the serial # but I could ask the seller. What period/year would you say it's from?

I would skip all this and ask the seller for the number. Seriously.

If a seller is unwilling to give it, walk away.

I was waiting for you to show.
The points are CNC on that one....my early Josses have sharp points.

Any idea when Joss changed?

they were one of the first, mid 80s?..this cue is way newer like current line or close to it

The serial number is visible in the picture you posted. It's stamped into the joint of the cue. Usually starts with a J.

That cue is a mid 2000s Joss. It isn't vintage.

Thanks, I'm a little disappointed that it's not older. Is it worth the $165 asking price?

rounded

To pt109 I think it was 1983 or 1984 that they started doing rounded points. But I got a special order from early 1987 and it has some of the best forearm wood you can find in any cue and the shaft wood is great as well.
I've let alot of people hit balls with it and I not joking when I say it's one of the best steel jointed cues I've ever played with and many agree.

not old, but certainly worth the price.

Probably made about 2005, they can tell you with the serial number when it was made.
