So I bought a new Bob Frye a few months back. I played exactly two games when it was delivered to me ( didn't even really want to but they wanted to make sure I was happy with it ). So fast forward about 3 months. I'd had the itch to play for a little bit now and I decide today's gonna be the day! Go to leave to go play pool, transmissions out. Great. Now this was not a surprise, I've known it was going for a while but what anot awesome time - just when I finally decide I'm gonna play some pool first time in like 6 months . OK no worries. The place is very close to me so I decide I'm gonna just walk it - I DEFINITELY need the exercise and it's less than a 10 minute walk.

OK cool, I'm on my way. I get precisely one block from my house and it starts raining ??? Wtf? To be honest it was actually a light drizzle almost a mist if you will. I'm determined now to shoot some god damned pool! I continue on. I make it. I'm not wet at all! Cool! So I settle in, get me my Bud Ice, prerequisite bs out of the way. So can I get some quarters--- no honey it's free pool today and the tables open. AWESOME, I had no idear. So I go rack the balls up anticipating some some amazing playing with my new cue. Unzip the case. Pull the butt out. Pull the shafts out. Put them together, chalk up. Go to break. Nope. Can't hit the rack. Try again. Nope. Wtf again. I go to chalk up and notice that my tip is completely soaked.

OK so this is pretty shifty as I was really looking forward to playing with my new cue. No worries, cause I actually have 4 other cues in my case - all of which play good. I remove second cue. Yup, you guessed it - tip soaked. I proceed to go thru every cue and all the same. Whatever I'm still gonna play some pool. So I go to the wall and pick the best of the bunch ( choice of 5 ) and what I come up with is what could best be described as a resemblence of a long bow lol.

It's not as bad as it sounds. It met and played with some nice league folk. ( was asked to join their team lol ). Ended up meeting a very nice girl and ended up hang in all night. She was cute but whatever , what really got me was she made a comment that totally took me by surprise - she asked me " so are you like Vince in TCOM! " . Honestly couldn't believe it lol. People always say you had me at hello. I told her you had me at Vince and TCOM lol!

What kind of case do you have? Do the shafts go in tip up or down?

It's just a cheap 4x8 butterfly, weird thing was nothing was wet! Not the cues, liner, case, nothing but the tips lol. Don't know but it is in par with my luck.

Let's start with the car, then the case...and cue. Can I pick your car for you. I test drove an S6 last week. They had to pull me out of it. I started kicking, screaming and crying.

Honestly money us not the consideration but I will never buy a new car. As far as the cues --- my player is a $15 pawn shop score. Had many cues, this one plays the best no bs. The case.... well I don't know. This will not come up all that often but I have yet to see any case claim " waterproof ".
 
You lost me at Vince and TCOM.
The girl was probably a spy, and this phenomenon occurring with the dry 4x8
butterfly case and soaked tips is a tough one, I ain't buying it.
I suspect that you opened up the butterfly case to use it like an umbrella to keep your
hair dry for your little rendezvous with this spy chick.

Just kidding and making conversation about the car. As far a waterproof case I think that would be problem as it would seal moisture in unless it is breathable water resistant Codura ...

Well, JB claims ( http://www.jbcases.com/basicrugged.html ) says about its rugged cases that "This nylon is 1250D with a waterproof backing". Now no case is truly waterproof because of the zippers, but I would be very surprised if a case like that let the cues get well from just being the rain.

Instroke claims their cases have "moisture protection through individually sealed tubes", whatever that means. http://www.instroke.com/about_us.asp

I'm really just curious about this - I tend to drive places when I go play pool, but I would hope a decent case would keep the whole cue dry.

Wasn't a pool room it was a bar. Right by my house in the Dena my buddy Jason owns a bar called " Firehouse Pub ". It's in The Beach and is literally part of the Firehouse. Jason used to own the pool room called Bank Shots.

As far as the case - yes really very odd. As I said it wasn't even really raining - just kind of a mist. I got there and I was dry. I could not detect any part of the case being wet inside. As axxed, everything was inserted tip / butt joint down. The ONLY thing that was wet was the tips of all the cues. I checked the " sleeves " of each of the shafts and once again I could not detect any moisture . Don't know. Just know that they were all soaked. J, far as the car u know bro no worries. It's just me being lazy and that's it. As I said I've know the tranny has been going for a while and due to the value of the car I decided that I was not gonna fix it and just get something else. I did purchase a new ( to me ) truck about a month ago and once again just out of laziness ( and I was totally dreading going to the Glen Burnie MVA I have not got it tagged yet. It's all good, first thing next week I will be on it and take care of everything. Jason; if you have ever had to conduct any business at the Glen Burnie MVA which I think you might have, I'm sure you can feel me on that lol!

Made an appointment lol. Kinda funny you would mention that. I've gotten to a point in life where I'm experimenting with doing things different. So, after years and years of picking chics up and Yada Yada yada, exchanging phones #'s yada yada yada, I decided to try to make it a little fun. I asked her for a pen and some paper. I am certain she was expecting either or me giving her my phone # and or asking for hers. Like I said I wanted to be a little different, also inspired by the TCOM reference . I wrote down AZ Billiards and my user name. I asked her if she would like to talk to me in the future - she said yes of course. So I gave her AZB and my user name and told her to join up and message me on here. Guess we will see. If nothing else it's something different which is a good thing regardless of the outcome.

Edit - I'd like to add from my limited experience with this girl I do really like her and do hope she finds me on here. If not no big deal but I'd Def like to hear from this one.

Yes I agree, but honestly the case was with me the whole time and never left my sight at all. The only thing I can add to this is that the zippers were at the bottom of case where the tips were located ( not that I think this should make a difference though ). Anyway that's all I got and all I know.
