in the philippines if we see him in a billiard hall, we call him "champ" as a sign of respect
I don't think so. I could be wrong but I have a feeling that winning is far more important to Efren than a little dough that he might receive from a sponsor.
But it would be a great question for Mike from Russia to include in his questions for "Bata". I've often wondered if anyone still calls him "Bata".(everyone knows that Bata means "kid" or "child" and kid, he is no longer.)

the reason why he called BATA (KID/YOUNG) coz he is the younger Efren Reyes in Philippine Billiards world during his start. There is another efren reyes before who is older than him. so to differentiate, we called him BATA
