I wanted to share my experience with a recent project. First I would like to thank Dean for setting up the Bushka II project with Jerry Rauenzahn. I have always liked Jerry's work, but for whatever reason, Dean's post was just the push I needed to finally order a cue. With that said, I am even more appreciative/lucky that my number was the one drawn for the free cue. My Bushka II cue is still under construction and I will post pictures of it once it is finished. However, I received my "free" cue yesterday.
I had an idea in my head for a while about doing a Southwest inspired cue. I also love full spliced wrapless cues. With Jerry's full splice skills, I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get this cue off of paper and onto a lathe! I was wanting something fairly simple and something I wouldn't be scared to actually play with during league. Here is what I came up with.

Jerry was very receptive of my ideas. We went with Brazillian Rosewood into straight grain Maple for the full splice. I added some joint protectors, one Tiger Ultra X LD shaft with matching rings, and an 8" long extension that can quickly be added to the cue without having to remove the bumper. Jerry kept me updated with pictures throughout the build.
Everything went flawless during this build process and the cue turned out exactly as I had hoped. Jerry was excellent to work with. All of the good reviews on this forum about Jerry are true. If you are looking for someone to build a cue, don't hesitate to contact Jerry Rauenzahn!
