Jumpers

ive had various Jumpers and am now using a custom lightweight jumper from a local cue maker that jumps quickly and can get over a ball that is very close and it was fairly expensive especially compared to the jumpers you've listed. That being said a friend brought a dufferin ashwood shaft jumper to a tourney I regularly run. It had a 14 mm tip and Bakelite ferrule I've read, a number of quality players all tried it out with similar results, the ball jumped quickly and easily with not much of a learning curve to get used to, I'm not putting down any of the jumpers you have listed. Just relating my experience w this particular jumper which is definetly affordable. And you wouldn't have a problem getting your money back if it's not right for you. Sorry if I added to your list but from one player to another it's worth considering.

I really like my jacoby for dart jumping. It has a brass ferrule that really makes for a good pop.

I will admit that it seems much better made for dart jumping and close jumps. That, it's really good at. I find for longer jumps I will usually borrow someone's jumper which has a fatter heavier shaft (a player's jump/break for example).

You can definitely do both with it, but it seems better at darting.

Both the predator, and the lucasi are under 13mm, so I think the jacoby would have the edge on them with the brass ferrule.

Thanks for the input. Just out of interest, what is the approximate price range?

Yes I have heard of the Jacoby jump cue as well. Currently I am not using the dart stroke but I definitely want to learn it.

From the dozen or so Jump, Break, and Jump/Break cues I own, the best (of course, in my opinion) is the NG-06 McDermott Stinger Jump/Break with the Samsara Hard Leather Tip. No need to give the break all of your power... just hit it solid and you will see why this cue is so popular. Jumping is a learned art form that is easily mastered with this cue. And, to make things easier, McDermott has a Jump Trainer Ball available for making even a brand new beginner jumper able with just a little practice. I hope this helps. Rabbit from JaxRabbit . com

Go to www.mcdermottcue.com then POINT at Pool Cues in the top left corner and click on Stinger Jump Break Cues.

Jumpers

just tried the jacoby today it's not a bad jumper, just still amazed how easy the Dufferin ashwood jumper is to jump, dart or regular stroke no learning curve at all. Anyone else tried one?

I went from a Jacoby after 10 or so years to a Diamond wood Jumpin Jax. Its the best I have seen and believe me I have tried them all. Feel free to text Chris England at 434 851 4100. He will give you the best deal around. He is also a Preditor dealer and no one will beat his prices. He is also on FB. Tell him Doug sent ya
