This guy goes by Gary Bluhm..
He contacts me on 6/15 about a cue I have, and wants to do a trade.
We go back and forth, and finally agree to a deal after 22 emails, and 1 phone conversation..

We exchange one last email to finalize all that we talked about, and exchanged addresses.. We are scheduled to ship our cues on Monday 6/27..

Now Gary calls me today, and tells me he sold the cue to somebody else..
Normally when a cue deal goes south I don't get to worked up..
I'll usually get some B.S. excuse like everybody else has gotten in the past Right??..

But this is a first..
I'm not to bothered by the deal unwinding..
I am bothered that this guy has no integrity, and it's a warning to all to be cautious if this guy approaches you.. ..

Nice way Gary!!

So sorry for your loss. :frown:

Don't worry too much. You'll be trading with someone else in no time.

When dealing online all we have are our words..

Talk is cheap. I agree.

I've never dealt with you but, based on your iTrader, I'd have no problem shipping cash to you before you shipped the goods.

I don't know the other guy either. Sounds kinda fishy. Maybe he's telling the truth. I don't know. It seems you may have unwittingly dodged a bullet. To negotiate for a long time, come to terms, then back out like this just seems immature. Then again this is only one side of the story.

Write it off. You've already wasted enough time with this nondeal. :)

This is just a public service announcement..

Gary Bluhm is the same guy that would only accept a Certified Check as payment for a cue that he offered to sell me. He was unwilling to accept any other form of payment. In the end, I was too afraid to send him the check, because it offered me no buyer protection, and he has very little itrader feedback.

Good information....
I would avoid this guy..

integrity

I understand your disappointment.

However, How many deals or sales have ended up this way when a person is offered something better, maybe either cash up front, more cash, or just some better deal?

Not just about cues, but what if you agreed to sell your car or any other big money item over the phone but after you agreed to take that offer, someone else comes up afterward and offers you a couple thousand more? Would most people really think about their integrity and sell to the original buyer?

I know a cue is perhaps not the same as a car, but in this capitalistic society, I think money rules.

I think most people with good ethics and integrity would sell to the original buyer. A little more money is not worth someone breaking their word...imho.

You missed the mark...
I've had many unwinds, and some of the excuses are comical..

This has nothing to do with disappointment, it has everything to do with warning others
about Gary's business ethics..

Believe it or not there are still people in this world that believe in INTEGRITY..

I can appreciate your view on capitalism (EVEN THOUGH YOU HAVE NO ITRADER), and will avoid you in the future if you ever contact me.. A persons word is more important to me than making a few more bucks on any transaction..

Cues are my hobby, not my business..,

I have several opportunities a day, a week, a month and a year to make more money on transactions in my day to day business, but never do..
You can be very successful with Integrity, and without..
Over the long run the people that do bad business eventually fall hard..
I'm 50 years old, I've seen it many many times..

Thanks again for your transparency..

Well said. He definitely put his colors out there. Brian.

Yeah, I agree. If he made a deal with you then he should have kept it. I sell on other forums too and I've had offers come in moments after I've agreed to make a deal with someone that ultimately lost me money or a better trade. Oh well, once I've agreed it's done and I live with it. No excuses there. Bad business.

Yes,a deal is a deal.Once it's struck with an offer and an acceptance it's done period.Sometimes you could have done better but you need to honor your word or you are not a man.

Not sure where the others are coming from, but for me thank you for the heads up!
