Yes.
I prefer these super soft tips, that give you tremendous feel and the ability to super spin the CB at slow speed.
I have them shipped in from a small island in Japan where they use the foreskins of a rare breed of seal. Then, they are glued together with whale blubber that has been chewed to just the right texture and consistency by these older Japanese women that have lost their teeth.
These tips are tremendous and perfect for 1pocket.

Efren uses Elkmaster tips and plays with a $13 cue. ( a few years ago)
I prefer softer for one pocket. Not alot softer just a smidge for a little extra feel. May be more psychological than anything.
Makes no difference. IMHO changing equipment will only make things more difficult. A lot of table time, and watching the really good player move will make the most difference.
It's like golf, you can buy a brand new driver that they claim gets you another 15 yards off the tee. Only problem is if you don't work on your swing to get rid of that slice, you are just 15 yards farther out into the woods where the ants, bees, and gophers live.

One of the biggest fallacies is you can't buy a better golf game , you most certainly can equiptment and balls make a big difference you can certainly shave strokes by makeing changes ,, pool not near as much

Just a bit more seriously: the only two things I've noticed playing 1pocket is that, for me: 1. a softer tip seems better for the same reason as 2. you don't want your tip to be too round, like past a dime shape. And that's only because there are a lot of slow spin shots and safeties. If you're playing on new cloth with polished balls that becomes even more important.
And as a previous poster has said: you can't buy your game... other than through time put in on the table.

I am thinking of trying a softer tip for my one pocket shaft (Predator Z2) - upon which I currently have an Ultraskin Medium that take a lickin and keeps on tickin like a champ. LOVE ULTRASKIN!!! Awesome tip.
I may go with an Outsville soft just to see if Monsieur De La Renfro can impress me. More to follow n that. But I digest.... I think you use what feels right according to your stroke and style of play. I have a smooth yet viscous stroke and a style of play that has all the charm and subtlety of a hyena introducing itself to a buffalo carcass.

I use the same tip for all Pool games, but I prefer a different CUE for Snooker
or Carom(mostly 3C)

I haven't been around the world on tips but Ive tried the Moori and Sniper and went back to the Triangle then one day someone said try the ElkMaster and I did.
It was nice and soft hitting for a very long time and as it got beaten down it started playing very much like a Triangle which I liked anyway so I think its a great tip that starts out great and stays good for a very long time. I like my tips tall and playem until they get short. I don't go through a lot of tips and I play them and rate on how they play all the way through.
ElkMaster or Triangle would be my choice....but ElkMaster first.
