ChalkySticks TV Updates: Desktop App + Chat

Hey guys,

I've done a few quiet updates to ChalkySticks TV. One of them is an Early Beta Chat feature.
It should be working but not all the features are fully implemented. I'm testing the waters with this
one to see if I like it or not.

There's a new icon on the top left that looks like chat boxes. If you click that, the chat will appear and
you can start typing to other people watching. It has a similar style to video game chats (like in a first
person shooter) and will continue down that route.

Everyone is considered an anonymous user at this point, but soon I'll have it hook into your
ChalkySticks accounts and/or let you add nicknames. If you happen to be watching it on your TV
through PS4 or XBOX (where the chat wont work), you can easily open an IRC client and connect
to it.

Feature requests and feedback are welcome. It's very new and very early; I would almost consider
it to be an alpha feature.


Desktop App

There are now two desktop apps you can download to watch ChalkySticks TV. You should be able
to download it them, create a shortcut for your taskbar, and launch it whenever you want.

This also is an early experimental feature that will evolve over time, but I thought it was worth
throwing out there.

Try not to abuse the chat feature.. it's a work in progress.
 
I just wanted to chime in and say your chalky sticks tv is absolutely fantastic and fresh. I always have it on and find myself watching matches I would never have found or searched for without the channel.

This is exactly what pool needs in terms of getting accelerated into the 21st century.

Every pool hall should have chalkysticksTV playing on a dedicated screen.

Very cool and extremely innovative. I dig the menu showing upcoming matches, and the new app for desktop will just make it that much better.

When I finally get around to getting a smart tv, Chalkysticks will be on regularly.

Thank you for all that you are doing. I'm a big fan.

Thanks for watching! I appreciate all the kind words. Hopefully we can keep pushing it forward and get more people into playing/watching the game.
 
Chalky Sticks is down - uh oh.

Also, one question - last night i switched from my computer to phone and a different match was on that I left off at. A different list too.
Are the match lists different for when you log on?
 
It's up for me. Is it still down for you?

As for the list changing... that's something I'm working through. The list resets each day so it doesn't run the same loop over and over again, like shuffle. So it happens at some point and you might have seen that happen.

What used to happen was that I'd see the Holland vs Russia game and know what the next 5 matches would be. This way, with shuffle, you get to see more new things.
