i found a system for reverse english
systema G invertido (cacharrera)
i could not find a translation
anyone know what it means in english??
you have to scroll down about half way to find the system
or look on the right for alist of contents
there are many good systems in their archives

Mheican I work with says it's nothing specific, just a slang term for shot


He's no billiards fanatic though so it might mean something more to a South American player

Well, a brief google search implies that it is a woman who sells jalopies (or maybe other junk) or maybe earthenware. Is that specific enough?:smile:

Why does the bottom rail start at '3'? Doesn't make sense to me.


S = 5 LL = 2.5 2.5 = 12.5 5x S = 8 LL = 2.5 x 2.5 = 20 8
A = 12.5 A = 20

sometimes you just have to believe....:)
on the top rail i dont have a pic for you i would have to find the reference again
but the numbers go
2.5/5 then 6 not 7.5 / then 7 not 10/ then 8 not 12.5......:eek::eek::)

Many systems are simplified so you can remember them. The actual numbers that should be put on the cushions for best accuracy are not whole numbers. An example of this is System Sid which is close to a mirror system but the numbers on the second cushion are rounded to numbers that are easy to remember and deal with.

The system shown, which covers what the Europeans call a "Schaefer shot", is likely the same. I suspect that a reflected target system would work better for this shot and does not require arithmetic.

You have to modify it. In general at that angle and at slow speed, the follow dominates over reverse and the cue ball comes off more parallel to the cushion than the mirror would predict.

But the main point about systems like those shown above is that the numbers are probably not accurate enough to get the correct hit on the first object ball if you do it simply by the numbers (which have been rounded to simplify as pointed out previously). Remember that 0.1 diamond is the same as half of a ball, so you better do the numbers to 0.05 diamonds or better. Or use feel.

Guess it's how the latino world named it
