Sigel's retirement decision

In the interview before Corey Deuel and Justin bergman's match for CSI a few days ago, they asked Corey when he would think of retirement, saying he was around the age when Siegel retired.

Corey's response was that Siegel retired due to lack of $ in pool. Corey said (paraphrasing): "Siegel said show me the $ and that's why he retired". Corey said he was getting to that point as well.

Is that interpretation true? Is that why Siegel retired? Also, what has he done for a living since retiring from pool?

As I recall, that's what he said at the time. I think he started making cues with Dan Janes around that time.

Yes. That's why. There isn't any money in pro pool and there never has been.

Not for a long time, at least. Ralph Greenleaf made more money than Babe Ruth.

Can you imagine what the sport would be like if a pool player could make $30 million a year?

Full of absolute monsters.

uggghhhh. I shudder at the thought.

15 year olds by the 100s spending all day at your local poolhall during the summer running 10 packs...

I think I'm the only person that likes pool in the shitter.

Mike did some shilling for the GPPA Pool league, which died after its inaugural season. After that and since then, I have no idea.
