SVB vs Cheng Interesting Exchange

Shane should have completely ignored him. I think it was still in his head going into the next match, where he seemed as out of sorts as I've ever seem him.

Kevin Cheng can get bent.

If Cuetec re-sponsored Earl to travel with Shane as a coach, the world tournament scene would be in deep sh*t.

I think Cuetec would do OK on the investment... Good, bad, or ugly.;)

SVB letting out that much emotion possibly provides insight as to why he seemed so drained and out of it during the final. Maybe he is continuing to play just to silence his critics and show that the US still can produce the best player(s) although that hasn't been the case for years. Kinda makes me wanna pull for him even more. If he plays to say Efrens age today, one can only imagine the achievements he will have under his belt.

As far as Dennis goes, yeah he is a great player, but I can't stand that guy. Maybe personally he is an ok guy, but on the streams, wow what an a$$h0!3.

I know this thread is about Cheng, but wow, what the hell was Orcollo thinking there. Even if I were to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he didn't intentionally shark Mika, I can't think of why he would do that, especially at that time. If it was an illegal break for instance, why wait until Mika is addressing the shot. Furthermore, even the way he knocks his cue over just looks awkward and he makes no effort with his hand whatsover to grab the cue....The whole sequence is just strange and looks very awkward.
 
Damn those fans cheering on Shane are really LOUD and sound like Europe soccer hooligans or those Mosconi Eurrrrrooooppppe fans

The guy gets no support. If I'm not mistaken, he pretty much said he was done with pool because of all the negativity he was taking on Facebook.

I wonder if guys like Varner, Rempe, Sigel, and Buddy ever pick-up the phone to wish him luck before a big event or to congratulate or give advice after one.

I wonder what it would do for his morale if they did?

The Filipinos, the Taiwanese, and the Europeans all travel in communities, while Shane's out there on his own.

Interestingly, during the Mosconi Cup, White Snake's "Here I Go Again" was played for Shane's introductions... I wonder if he or the producers chose the song. Either way, it was fitting.

You are correct on this one.
That last rack with Shane taking forever on each shot - wiping down the shaft, circling the table and even doing a Johnny Archer rail clean here and there.
That isn't Shane's game and that would really lead to an off-center zone for a next match.

Again, this is all something that can be avoided if he traveled with a Coach. But we had that discussion on another thread.

Albin clearly has had sports psychology training in that department. Maybe he learned it from Ralf Souquet who is the most rock solid no emotion player out there. But it does go a long way in staying in the zone (in any sport, not just pool).

For some reason American pool players are of the notion only a coach of better skill can teach a player so far from the truth a good coach is invested in the player with his trained eye he can spot little things in thier PSR stance stroke and such that a player might not recognize he's doing ,,
Sports Shrink as one who has seen one I can without a doubt say it was the best 300 I ever spent I won several times that directly because of that visit ,, ,
I didn't see Albin play I did see him lose to Shane at the challenge of the Champions and

I would not have thought so then , however I heard after his match before the final he went back and rested and I heard Shane practiced don't know if that's true ,
However getting that rest in is something that would lead me to believe you are correct something that my shrink said was very important , to him the rest far exceeds the practice because the mind gives before the body , I think thats the case here Albin was fresh and Shane was exhausted

Shit happens. When you play enough pool, stuff like this with Kevin Cheng happens. The guy was curious and wanted to get a different angle view of the layout. I'm sure at some time or another all of us has done this. At least Shane wasn't down on his shot yet.

Ah it's a to do that may spark a rivals ,, that's a good thing , Kevin is just bursting on the seen , he's already got some big wins broke Shane's streak at the Open ,, the best thing to happen for pool is Rivalries , that creates interest , given how Kevin had played I picked him in this Tourny , , I think he's primed to be Shane's rival since Dennis seems to check up playing Shane and I don't think our young guns are quite there yet , he torched Archer on his own court not a easy task , Alex is still in the topic also , this is a great think
I look forward to seeing these guys flex the muscles for the next few yrs here stateside

My interpretation of Shane's odd behaviour like walking around the table, cleaning/clearing the path of the object ball, etc. is simply pay back for Kevin sharking him. It was also annoying that Kevin kept shaking his hands & arms. It was also probably Shane's way of also getting into Kevin's head and get him pissed and rub it in that he's finished but he was prolonging the agony for Kevin by taking his sweet time.

Definitely poor gesture on Kevin's part to stand up and even walk directly into the line of sight/shot regardless of whether Shane was down to shoot or not.

I've noticed SVB is a bit thin-skinned.
He once told a story of some dude who hit SVB with a billiards ball.
Sound like SVB has gone through a few difficulties dealing with others.

I heard that he will no longer play at Hard Times in Bellflower on account of an incident that took place.

I don't know what's going on inside his head, but I really think he needs to work on his
mental/focus skills == the appropriate coach could only help his professional career.

Whatever you do, SVB, stay away from Earl. Don't let his "style" rub off on you.
You're too good a person to let that happen.

i heard in one of the POVPOOL commentaries that he said the pockets in HT were too tight.

Karl Boyes vs Efren Reyes world 9 ball 2014. How many times can you have a ref stop the match and clean the cue ball? Ridiculous.
