Shane at OB Cues has been gracious enough to agree to supply a prototype OB Cues DigiCue training aid for an AZB forum pass around!! I know I was excited about this product when I first saw it and we're still a couple months away from it being released but a few lucky members will have the chance to demo it early!

Shane has agreed to let me manage this pass around as I have participated in them before in other places.

I will take up to 10 members who meet the following criteria:
  • US Resident (sorry, would love to make it global but shipping costs and times are just too great for something like this)
  • Established member with 500+ posts
  • 100% iTrader rating with at least 5 transactions
  • Willing to abide by the rules of the passaround (hold for no more than 5 days, ship in timely manner to next person on the list, make sure DigiCue leaves you in the same condition it arrives)
  • Willing to pay for shipping to the next person and stay on schedule (USPS)
  • Willing to come back to AZB and post a review as well as posting a review to Facebook (preferred) or other social media outlet tagging OB Cues in the post

***if you meet most of the criteria but not all and think you should still be considered, please contact me. Established/known members who don't sell much for example or who sell a lot but maybe don't post as much might be considered on an individual basis. Also a lack of a Facebook account to post a review is not necessarily a deal breaker.

I have already had a few people contact me to sign up. This list is as follows:

***LIST IS FULL***

  1. 1 - bbb
  2. 2 - dvs
  3. 3 - fastone371
  4. 4 - mikeiniowa
  5. 5 - DaveM
  6. 6 - Bavafongoul
  7. 7 - justadub
  8. 8 - daylate$short
  9. 9 - madhatter44
  10. 10 - ric23

***The above is not necessarily the order in which the DigiCue will travel, once all addresses are collected I'll create a passaround schedule that will avoid it needlessly crisscrossing the country so we can have quick ship times.

If you would like to be involved in this please post to this thread stating that you are willing to abide by the rules stated. If you meet all the criteria I will add your name to the list. If you feel you should be allowed to participate without meeting the criteria please post indicating as such in this thread and send me a PM so I can review.

I'll be taking these on a first come/first serve basis. Once you have been added to the list I wills end you a PM to get your address information so I can compile the list.

Shane will be sending me the DigiCue sometime next week to start this off.

I would like to be considered for the Digicue pass around trial please, I am 1 I-trader short though but I am at 100%. I would be more than happy to give you my CC# to protect your investment while I have it in my possession if that is a concern, thank you for consideration, Bob

I, too, would like to be considered, but I've not done any transactions here.

I will watch the progress and read the reviews, however....

FYI, for those that will be participating in the pass around, we have a pretty detailed FAQ on our website for the DigiCue: https://www.obcues.com/pages/DIGICUE-Billiard-Training-Aid-Frequently-Asked-Questions.html

slide13, maybe edit your first post in this thread adding a link to the FAQ's also?

It is worth a read if you will be trying it and/or if you already have one on order.

We also have a video that was filmed earlier this week by Cleary that is currently being edited and as soon as that is finished, we will post a link to it.

Let me know if you have any questions and I hope that you all enjoy the DigiCue.

If the device is easily affixed to a cue's butt and does not mark or damage the finish on my cues,
I'd be willing to try the device and I'd take it straight to Blue Fin Billiards for 5 days of testing which
would involve multiple players trying the product. I'd probably just try my Palmer cue to make sure
there's no risk of damaging the finish on my cue's butt sleeves & if it easily attaches, then I'd try it
on any of my pool cues.......sounds like it gives feedback on imperceptible variations which have to
happen with all of us but how much, how often and which type shots are more prone to variation?

Interesting product concept........information display and retrieval would be great to know more about.

p.s Anyone interested in trying this product, please answer one simple question....."Whom is Luke Shimer?"
Have you done anything to help this fallen veteran and if you don't like your answer, it's never too late to start.

I've included you as I think your longtime membership and prolific posting record are enough to make up for the lack of iTrader.

Matt,

The production version of the DigiCues electronics are protected by a Polypropylene housing that will be near impossible to break and that is only in contact with the rubber bumper of your cue. Please note that the prototype versions including the one that will be the pass around model have a 3d printed acrylic housing protecting the electronics. Still strong but not as strong as the production version so if you get mad and slam your cue on the ground with the DigiCue attached because it won't stop vibrating :) then it is possible that you could crack the housing (but HIGHLY unlikely that any damage would be done to your cue). The production version will almost never crack, even if you slam your cue on the ground (we have tested this).

The DigiCue is placed into a Silicone rubber housing which slides onto the butt end of your cue and will not damage your cue in any way. To remove it, you simply pull the rubber housing off the end of your cue and put it in your pool cue case (it will shut off automatically after 5 minutes of not hitting a ball).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I've added you.

I think this should slide on without any damage at all as long as you make sure the inside of the rubber cup is clean.

If you have a cue you're really worried about but still want to try it I figure you can cut and wrap a small section of Saran wrap around the butt of your cue and it shouldn't effect function at all. I'll have no problem slipping it onto the delrin butt cap of my Runde, but I could see being extra cautious if you have ivory or something like that. Seems the above would be a super simple solution to add an extra layer of protection that would be really easy to remove when you're finished.

I would like to be considered to receive the DigiCue during the Pass Around circuit.

I would follow the rules associated with the test.

Thanks

Charlie

"Prolific" might not always be a good thing :p

Thanks. I look forward to trying it out, and as someone else mentioned, I'll get input from other folks that I play with as well.

Great thought Matt

Very easy site to donate to.

Took only about 2 minutes.

Thanks guys

Dave

Thanks for your consideration.

Seems like a great way to thank Shane for giving us this opportunity to demo their new product. Done!

You guys are awesome.Luke getting struck by lightning was extremely traumatic on our entire family (I actually found him right after it happened and did CPR) but he is a fighter and will get through this.
