Bob Byrne's Personal 9' Table

So far as I know, Bob has never had a carom table in his home in Dubuque. He didn't have one in California, either, at the time of the break cue speed experiment.

hmm cause he says here in my home in dubuque at the beggining of the tape, its even on youtube

and shows him shooting into a corner

maybe he had carom rails for that 9ft pool table?

A terrific thread. Absolutely loved the video posted by beneath_the_sur. I have always been a huge Robert Byrne fan and studied his books for years. His Byrnes's Complete Book of Pool Shots has a ton of colored post-it tabs sticking out of it as reference points of particular shots. Aside from the instructional contributions what a hoot McGoorty was. Congrats to Dr. Dave for his acquisition.:thumbup::thumbup:

David Gross is owed 144 greenies for starting this.

There is a Mosonic Temple in town that has 3 or 4 billiard tables, that is what he may have been referring to; here is a pic of Bob playing on one of the tables during my visit:

You a funny man, PT, but thanks. And thanks for contributing to the help Dr. Dave move the table fund. :) He is over the moon about this table, it was meant to be.

The table in the Accu-Stats video is not at the Masonic Temple but in a home.

I just talked to Bob and he had a carom table at one time but he could never get anyone to come over and play him a game. He turned it in for a pool table. That may have been on April 18th, 1989 as on that date he was having a "black and brass Gandy" table installed in his garage, as documented in "Advanced Technique."

Thanks, Bob. When you coming to Ft Collins to christen Dr. Dave's new table?
