Creativity Unbound?

Dear Gentle Readers,

A pal sent me some Corey Deuel one-pocket links. Wow. He was experimenting with outré breaks. Redefining combo / bank / carom shots.

Other players have stronger games, but does anyone else have his imagination?

The first one-pocket stream I watched on YouTube was Efren and Shannon in Galveston. The way Efren worked out of some of those traps was amazing - - a combination of skill and imagination and precision.

Adulation is my life,

Sunny

I wonder how many shafts Rafael goes thru with all the practice strokes he takes. I counted 66 warm-up strokes on a break shot once, he finally hit the ball on the 67th stroke.

This is a true story. At the BCA Nationals two years ago, I sweated his match against Sky. BB 8 ball. I noticed from the first break in the set he was taking a lot of practice strokes.

I started counting the strokes on the next break. He took 24. Every rack during the set he would take more and more practice strokes 29, 35, 44, etc... It was as if he got into a repeating cycle with his warmups and couldn't snap out of it. At one point Sky was nodding his head and counting as well. It was pretty comical.

At hill-hill he didn't fail to deliver-60 practice strokes and he pulled the trigger on 61! That old rascal got out for the cheese and left young Sky sour as anything.

Sounds like he was trying to "shark-stroke" him.;)

Don't sell Corey short

Corey has a super creative mind. He was the first player I saw that figured out how to rack, break, and run out a huge percentage of the time. We all know that many can do this now but it was Corey that schooled them !
