Will the unique joint on my cue fit any new production shafts out there?

I have this cue, and I do not know the type of joint it has on it (flat faced 5/16x14 is my best guess, all of the info that I have been told so far).

I counted 10 full threads, and the joint pin is under 1 inch (I am not sure how to measure this, but it is 28/32 of an inch). The thickness of the joint pin is 5/16 (of an inch, I guess). If this info tells you the size of the joint, then I would be very happy to know if any of the new production or other shafts on the market would fit the joint pin, or would I need to send the cue to someone to have a shaft custom fitted to the cue? Thanks a lot for any help.

Most 5/16-14 LD shafts will have a pilot and be undersized. Get your local repairman to face off the pilot and add some finish and you can use them.
 
Joint ????

Bring the cue to me and I will do what ever you need to do to make the extra shaft fit your cue for FREE but it sure looks like a 3/8x 10 to me in the pic. Dan Axe
 
I make the 5/16x14 in either flat faced or piloted and as Chris stated you can have the pilot cut off a production shaft.

Thanks for the very nice offer Dan. The joint pin is 5/16 (Diameter) thick, and I counted 10 entire threads. I do not understand exactly what 5/16x14 means, but I now understand the 5/16 part. Now I am curious what the 14 means. How do you measure 14 threads, and how could it be 14 when I can only count 10? Very sorry. I imagine that my question will make all the cue makers that read this laugh out loud. Thanks.

The 14 is representative of the thread pitch count in threads per inch. So a 5/16-14 is 14 TPI threads per inch, 5/16-18 is 18 TPI etc Not all threads are a nominal number in TPI either. But all threads can be expressed in mm of pitch, and go to 4 decimal places for the metric pitch. so your 14 TPI on a metric lathe is 1.8143 rounding to the nearest 4 decimal place. To get the pitch in mm divide 25.4 by the TPI and that becomes the mm of pitch for that thread.
None of this takes into account the threads effective pitch diameter and that is where the can of worms opens up with all the various companies and individuals who make their own variation on a thread form and it's nomenclature.
I like the 5/16-18 thread myself.
