Chalk lines on table

I will sticker up shots from time to time (not nearly as often as I should). After. Few dozen repetitions a faint line appears in the cloth from the cue ball spot to the object ball spot. Looks like break lines but this is chalk I believe.

Is it more likely chalk that is embeded in the cloth or dirty cue ball?

I was doing pocketing drills on Sunday and saw the same thing, but was using Magic Chalk that doesn't tend to come off too much. I really wasn't chalking much at all.

I think it may be just a path on the fibers of the cloth. Seemed to brush right out, but as I brush in one direction only, I could have just been re-aligning the fibers.

That's a great point. I do brush but it doesn't come right out like aligning the fibers. Not impossible to get out, not even difficult really but maybe chalk and fibers hmmm

I have noticed the same thing. Always disappeared when I did my standard table cleaning - vacuuming, chalk off, and brushing. Assumed it was chalk, as it match spots that would show up when I rested my tip on the cloth, but might not be.

I was doing the Mighty X for an hour, only to notice the big X left on the table.

No biggie, if you shoot the same shot from the same place over and over again, it will have a chalk line. It cleans right off with a damp rag....
Keep practicing :)
