Alfred Hitchcock shooting pool?

Scott Lee has done more good for pool than a lot of pros....
...but it doesn't mean I agree with everything he says.

Nor I.
But, tell me, my friend. Why is it that all the instructors who populate this forum are of the opinion that who they are, and what they say, is heaven sent? It baffles the hell out of me.
Rarely do they contribute to the more mundane comings and goings of this place, although I will say that Scott seems to be the more 'regular Joe' of the bunch. The rest, however, are content to patiently wait behind the curtain until a pronouncement is called for.
It's truly amazing when a pool player can go to some location unknown to most of us, pass a test given by people who are also unknown to most of us, pay an appropriate fee, and then said pool player can use the grandiose title of Master with a fair amount of the alphabet attached to the end of his name.

And it pisses off the instructors that are fully qualified and competent. I totally agree not all are created equal degree or no degree. Regardless of our opinions the quality instructors will prevail. Deliver quality and it comes back to the source. The schlock artists will self destruct. Speaking for myself I look for the reviews and recommendation. Paperwork not needed. I do feel bad for the person that gets connected with the wrong party. Wasted time and money...and gets discouraged from future lessons.
I dealt with dentists professionally. Some were really poor operators. Patients thought they are great, nice people, not expensive. The patient sure paid later. Some general dentists take a quick course and call themselves Prothodontists. Some general dentists take a course and now they are certified Orthodontists which they are not. But some of the Masters are masters.
Certified auto mechanics ..... got the car back with extra grease and scratches. Tell ya..I'm thinking about selling Certificates of any kind for anything. Who'll have one?
