2016 US Open 9 ball/ 9ft (16-22 Oct2016) Norfolk, Virginia (Winner $50K)

With these tougher break rules, I actually think Chang is a slight favorite in this match
But I am just stunned at the margin 8-0 now

Well in the 1990 US Open, Varner was down to Sigel 2-9 and corner hooked, and came back to win 11-10. Varner was down only because he had no opportunities and Sigel was running out. Varner didn't complain a wit, that is until the famous last game...

Grady was down something similar to Earl back in the mid-90's and won something like 10 games in a row to win the match.

I've seen Shane ahead early in so many matches, I've just never heard of him staging a big come back from behind.

Shane's on the board!! He got out of line, had a tough backwards bank, made it, and lucked the 9 in.

SVB 1, Chang 8

TPA's:
Shane: 615
Chang: 906

Mr. 400 in attendance...

Shane 2-8!

This is like TAR20. Shane has an open table on something like the 4 and I'm thinking "gee, will he get out?" Well he did but was out of position the whole time.

One game at a time Shane...

Geez, this is like rooting for Trump. I'm just happy the match is still on while I'm hoping for an earthquake to hit, The Hulk to upend the table, or a crazed, raging, Water Buffalo to break into the room.

All seem of equal probability

Can anyone remember SVB coming back from something like this to win a match?

Shane's TPA: 0.417

I think most of those comebacks were completed in winner break formats. Alternating break with the odd break rules make this seem a little impossible for me. Would love to see Shane do it but just don't see it happening.

Efren came back on Hopkins one time down by 10 games and Hopkins was on the hill. Alternate break format.

This one is winner breaks format as mentioned by Belushi. :grin-square:

SVB 4, Chang 11

This was like one of those football games were the final score was 52-21 and you go “Yeah, but it wasn’t really that close”

TPA's
Shane: 0.762
Chang 0.868

Classic Shane: It's 1am, the room is basically empty, and he's practicing breaking over and over.

Wow, Shane still practising on Stream table. Hardest working pool player. Smart thing to do also really master the break on the stream table

I can't view the brackets on my android. Spartan can you list the remaining notables on the one loss side.

I'm down at the open now. Is there anywhere I can find the times for the Wednesday matches??

Random but does anyone know what day this is supposed to end? A buddy and I might skip work to check it out this week, but if it ends on Sunday or Saturday is going in the middle of the week even worth it to watch?

Worth it? YES!
