Did Earl resign vs Roberts?

My understanding is that Josh commented that he wished Earl would stop talking to him during the match. Then Josh took his timeout and left the arena. At that time, Earl unscrewed and quit.

That's pretty pitiful on Earl's part if that's what happened.

I can't imagine at that level.....taking a break to go gather your thoughts, use restroom or whatever... Come back in 4 or 5 minutes and realize your opponent has quit?
Well, a "W" is a "W"....moving on.

Same old earl bs I've come to know. As a 25 year old I am aware of earls accomplishments, but without seeing anything but a real bad attitude and even worse sportsman I can't say I look up to him. I remember the guy that basically took me u see his wing was playing in the pro event at the expo and I asked who his favorite player was and he said earl and he hopes he draws him cuz his dream would be to play him in a tournament and all I could think of was that he would be bitcxing n complaining the entire match especially if he didn't win, but I didn't shatter his dream saying any of that and tried to get a better understanding of earl but still to this day all I know of earl is raking balls after a miss, intentional sharking, constant complaining and bad etiquette, and basically a complete lack of class.

Sorry to the guys that grew up loving earl but if u were 25 n only knew this earl u would understand why so many people say he's bad for the game

Earl's antics are just old and not entertaining anymore. Love watching videos of him from the early 90s when he was super focused and didn't complain about every single bad roll, or how someone is so dumb because they didn't shoot "the right shot." He has so much pool knowledge it's a shame it's not fun to watch him anymore.

Not to mention the fact I put the mortgage on him playing Darren because for 5 years all he said was he wanted a 4 pocket table only to watch him essentially take the balls away to give Darren the cash n give away my cash and my last bit of faith in dark as a competitor

The wheels have fallen completely off at this point. Sad to see such a great player & former champion finally implode completely. He's always been of a mercurial personality but this is just over the top.

He was a worldbeater in his prime.Pure magic.Shape for Earl was seeing the ball....I understand what you have seen but I see him as a troubled genius coming apart at the seams as his game declines.

Earl's greatest opponent is himself. Such a shame to see such a great player ruin himself.

Im 25 and I love earl.

Speaking of antics, Dennis Orcullo or how ever it's spelt just blew a head gasket when Neil's F. Checked Dennis's rack got upset made a scene and thru his cue at the rack then started flinging balls around the table stopping play around the other tables near him.

Seriously? So, he was forfeited out? Very unlike Dennis to get so angry. I wonder what got into him?

Yes, it is hard to watch one of our greatest players slowly deteriorate, mentally and physically, right before our eyes!..But obviously, not all top players can have the calm demeanor of an Efren, or an SVB!..Earls spectator popularity now, is based strictly on people wanting to see him implode, not in watching his once stellar play!

His loyal supporters often make feeble excuses for his behavior!..Medical issues aside, I have often wondered if Earl may not have played even better, had he been better able to control his emotions!..I guess we'll never know, because he is completely 'bouncing off the walls' now, and it looks like it will only get worse!

That's not entirely true. He is still capable of outstanding play and running racks beautifully- that's mainly why I still enjoy watching him play

It's all unicorns and rainbows when he's winning. On top of his "troubles", he's a really sore loser, which compounds these issues. And before anyone says, show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser, save your breath. A real champion loses with grace and class. No one wins all the time. I'm sure people will be by shortly to make excuses for Earl. About he was great once. About how we tear down our American legends. Etc, etc. that dog don't hunt no more.

The match is still going on, I think Dennis just felt offended. They been checking each other's racks ever since ref had to step in and tell Dennis not to touch Neil's rack by hand after Dennis saw something he did not like.
