Who ya got?
For team USA: Shane, skyler, Rodney, dechaine and Bergman (I was hoping dechaine wouldn't be top 3 and Mark could pick either josh Roberts or Oscar for that spot, but dechaine looks like he will earn a top 3 spot)

Team Europe: ? I haven't looked at their points standings so I won't make a guess.

Does anyone know why they don't expand this event to include --- a team from Canada, a team from the Philippines and a team from Taiwan?

Whoever Mark picks for his two players outside the top three qualifiers.... someone is going to be pissed and hurt.

As it stands -- Rodney, Sky and SVB should be in the top 3.

I'd like to see Justin Bergman and Robb Saez round out the team, but that's just me.
 
I think SVB,Sky,and Dechaine have all made the team in points.

I heard that the only two Americans playing in Kuwait are SVB and Dechaine, not sure if that is true is there a players list for that event?

They would then have to split up Europe.

There is already an event like that with scotch doubles.

I think you're right about the top three. Dechaine edged out Rodney for one of the automatic spots due to his performance at the US Open.

I don't know who's going to the Kuwait Open, but both SVB and Dechaine are listed as playing at the Steinway Classic starting tomorrow. The Kuwait Open is also supposed to start tomorrow, but it's not over until Nov. 5, so maybe there's some kind of qualifying stage and they're skipping that and showing up next week.

I think there are several players playing in the Steinway Classic that are going to Kuwait so there must be qualifying stage.
 
Sorry to ask stupid question but does Mark get to pick the final two?

Is it not based solely on points for all 5 spots this year?

Mark does get to pick 4th and 5th players however last year he just picked the players that were 4th and 5th in points.

So if he does the same this year the Team will be SVB,Sky,Dechaine,Rodney and Oscar.

It's bad enough we finish in 2nd place every year. If they added those countries, we'd drop to 5th every year.

The scotch doubles is WCOP which is just doubles and different ball game from team event like MC
The closest to MC is Dragon's Kings and Queens Cup

Main stage starts from 2-5 Nov
Steinway is warmup event for Kuwait Open which will be big $275K prizemoney- all the big guns will be there

I agree it should be a North America vs Europe event, but its long tradition and history, no need to change a very prestigious event.

I would like the team to be SVB, MD, RM, Josh Roberts and last spot is a toss up between a lot of players.
