Titanium pin, pros & cons
Titanium pins are lighter and achieve more rear balance. While stainless pins are heavier for forward weighted balance.
The pin used may simply be manufactures method of obtaining their desired balance.
Less front weight allows adjustment weights to be in further and achieve a balance they are looking for.
Let's not forget, there is a marketing aspect too.
As far a pros/cons on playability, (IMO) a pin is a pin is a pin.

It's about half an ounce lighter than brass or SS.
Pros:
Lighter
Less prone to bending compared to brass.
Wil not change in color as badly as brass.
Cons:
Very hard to machine. If it's installed wrong, it has to be blowtorched or induction heated to remove. Brass is easy to remove by machining.

My personal cue is 20 years old. Non cored Ebony with a Titanium Radial screw. I wouldn't change it for anything.
Easy answer
It depends on the cue. Everything has it's place.
All of my ivory joint cues use big pins (Radial, 3/8x10 and 3.8x11).
Two of the cues have titanium screws whereas the other four have brass and steel.
All my cues weight the same......on purpose.......and basically use the same tips as well.
There isn't any difference & my cue-makers said they used different pins so they could make the exact cue wt.
