I was at a tournament recently where I saw a top pro using one of these cloths to clean his shaft. I asked about it and was told that it worked very well. As luck would have it, they were for sale by a vendor there at the tournament and I bought one.

I'm really impressed with how easy it is to use and how long a cleaning lasts before I have to use the cloth again. The main thing though is that it is non-abrasive. When you use it, the dirt comes off of the shaft (in seconds) and sticks to the cloth and you can see it clearly on the cloth. As you can see from the above link, the cloth is washable and reusable..

The only problem is that there is no documentation given explaining:

...Proper technique

...How to clean the cloth?

...How to wash and how many times can it be washed?

Anyone have any experience with these?

Is it different than a micro fibre cloth you'd get in any automotive store?

They're not micro fiber. Much thinner. There's a smoother side and a rougher side. You clean with the rougher side and it feels like it is coated with something. Cleans MUCH better than any cloth I've used.

Interesting. I guess I would wipe it down on one side and wipe it harder on the next. My concern is that chalk under a microscope is much like glass, or dirt... and would have abrasive edges.

Would a wet wipe down possibly make tiny scratches???? Just wondering.

I could be wrong for sure.

Just FYI, the cloth is dry when used.

I have one of these and didn't like that it actually removes wood from the shaft, almost like a fine grit sand paper.
So I stopped using it.

That's interesting. I haven't experienced that at all and that's a big part of the attraction of this cleaning method.
