These types of mistakes are to be expected since record keeping isn't as strong as in other sports. Azb is a great resource but if you don't have a gold membership you wouldn't be able to fact check as easily.

I hear these types of mistakes all the time, calling one player or another a world bank champion, Ralf souqet has been called a former world 14.1 champ, Earl has been attributed 10 world titles (sometimes more!). Mostly commentators are relying on their memory and to be fair, Shane's break out year was 2007 which is when a lot of people became aware of him.

Well said. He may be well respected in the States due to lack of decent refs there but every time I try to put him side by side with refs of Rees or Tabb's caliber, he looks almost amateurish.

I remember the mess he made on some calls at the Mosconi a year or two ago. What a mess.
