Do I have enough space for an 8' table??

That looks good Bob, thanks. Unfortunately I have a post on that side of the room also.Could you place that diagram on right side of the pic?

Something like this? I think the post will be really, really bothersome even with a 7-foot table. It's time to get headquarters to budget for a steel beam;).

Go Simonis 760....you will encounter it in tournaments, especially 9 ft tables.

Learn to master the speed difference.......860 is too slow to intentionally choose to use it.
It's the commercial version intended to be more durable and thus also slower than 760.

If you take the game seriously, I would strongly suggest using a seven foot if thats will fit the room without obstruction. I will say that to me personally any time you go to shoot only to have the back of the cue bang into a wall is about the worst thing one can experience while playing. It ruins the game for me.

Another reason that I would suggest 7' over 8', is that 8' tables in this day and age are somewhat obscure. 9' tables and 7' bar boxes rule the roost. It is my understanding that at some point in years gone by eight footers were common in the South and nine footers were found up Northern states. But unless someone tells me I'm way off, I think 8' tables are only found in non commercial deployments these days. So if when you go out into the world and play at least you will be familiar with the most common table size in the Country.
