Digicue reset ?

Hey guys ,

I recently purchased the digicue. That pretty nice thing worked well for a few hours.
It doesnt matter in which mode i play it, it always vibrates 2 times. So when i am in mode 1 or in mode 3, it always vibrates 2 times.

Is there a way to reset the digicue? Or do you have an idea what is wrong ?
I am pretty sure I installed it properly.

Sounds like you're in mode two, click button 5times fast that will put you in mode 3 (3 buzz's) then 5 more clicks will bring you back to mode 1 (1buzz) it really should be that easy.

Press 5 times to go to next level. It will respond with a three buzz....then press 5 times, it will respond with 1buzz for level 1.

It goes off on its own.

The next time you turn it on it will buzz accordingly to what level you have it set at
 
Oh sorry guys probably a missunderstanding.
Even when I switch to mode 3 or in mode 1 , the digicue always buzzes 2 times.

I can change the mode (by pressing 5 times) as much as i want, but it vibrates always 2 times.

That's why I was wondering if there is a possibility to reset this thing.

Remove the battery then reassemble?

That would be a hard reset IMO
 
You can also contact OB Cues, they never failed me with questions or issues. If it's not working properly you should have a replacement in a few days.

Thank you for purchasing the DigiCue and I am glad you are enjoying it. I try to check the forum every day or so to catch technical questions like this one. I apologize for the two day delay.

The DigiCue is working as designed. The indication pattern of a shot fault is "always" two vibrations, regardless of what mode it is set to. The reason for two vibrations is that it is easy to second guess whether one and only one vibration happened, especially since we are focusing on making the shot and making position rather than the DigiCue (which you should be). The second buzz helps.

However, when you press the power button, the device reports which mode it is set to. Again, this does not affect how the DigiCue vibrates when it picks up a fault.

Further, I originally programmed the DigiCue to vibrate with a pattern that indicated what type of fault it picked up. For the same reasons, this didn't work that well. Many times you would be second-guessing what pattern you just felt. Eventually you would start paying more attention to the DigiCue than your game in order to identify the indication pattern, and it would defeat the whole purpose since it would be too distracting. It was much better to stay simple.

So, if someone wanted the original way you programmed it, with different vibrations for the different faults detected, would you be willing to reprogram one or trade one if we sent it in the one we owned?

I practice my stroke with mine, but it is very frustrating.
Just having someone only say "Wrong!" when you perform a bad stroke, and not give some sort of clue to the error, doesn't help much.

If you move in any way within a second after impacting the cue ball, you will get a vibration. Your goal is to stay perfectly still. I suggest you start by hitting short shots and practice until you get no vibrations on beginner mode, and then progress from there. You may be surprised to learn that you move more than you thought. It is up to you to figure out how to stay still. Digicue is a guide, but you must find the answer because each stroke is very personal.

I can hit about 60% of my "practice" shots with no vibration on Intermediate mode. I was just hoping to be able to get some more detailed feedback on what "movement" it is detecting. If it is the same error time after time (lateral or vertical) or a combination of the two.
You are correct, everyone I have let try it, always gets a vibration, they all ask, what did I do wrong? Now I can say, you weren't still after the shot.
 
Nate, I just got the new Digicue Blue, This is the feedback I was looking for! This is a huge improvement over the old one.

I also like that you have created a (Python) program to allow a PC with Bluetooth (*see note) to be able to communicate with it as well.

*note: for any one else reading this, there are special requirements for the PC version.

If you do use the PC program, feel free to provide criticism, or even code improvements. I'd like it to be a community project that grows. FYI it is not officially supported by OB, but it is opensource.
