I really think the Fargo numbers work reasonably. Particularly at the pro levels. I'd love to see a Fargo tourney. World top 16 play Fargo races according to their current rankings. That would be pretty cool

Why have they all moved up at the same time (except Bergman)? Are others moving down or are they just getting credit for beating people which increases their rating?
 
How is Daz up on last year?

Surely the system is flawed if 12 of the top 13 have gone up?



If there is general inflation at the top that implies that starter ratings for average folks are too high and the extra points flow upward.

Starter ratings don't exist as far as the optimization is concerned; it knows nothing about them.

Math geek question following others may want to skip.

Then how did you establish the first player?

If the only data you had was 1000 games between SVB and ER split 501 to 499. You would still need to set a baseline. At some point you had no established players and there has to be a first.
