I am thinking about trying to raffle off my cue.

Well, the DCC is starting, and would love to have some cash to go, and for more then just a few hours each day. Have to catch the casino bus to get there, and can only stay 6 hours (before the casino bus heads back to Louisville). If I had an extra couple hundred, then I could stay as late as I want, and then get a taxi back home to Louisville. I have the worst timing for being really broke. I really want to go to the DCC. Lol, pretty stupid reason for wanting to sell my cue I guess. I will have a little bit of cash next week, so I will be going for sure next Thursday or Friday. Can't wait.

Yes, that is one of the dumbest reasons for selling a cue I've ever heard. Dude, wake the heck up already :) Instead of going to DCC, go out and practice with the cue you like. DCC is for folks that can afford to go. You're not one of them this decade, come back in 2020 and we can talk ;)

BAM!! That's what i'm talkin' about. RJ, apparently my attempts at sarcasm didn't get the desired effect. Thanks for droppin' the hammer here! BTW, really like the tip covers. Shaft likee.

Yeah, it is no fun to attend the DCC, and not have the $260 that I wish I had to enter the 9 ball tournament. On the plus side, it is really cool seeing the event live, and getting to see all of my favorite players live, and it only costs $15 for the day to do that. The casino bus only costs another $5, and comes with a free $15 food voucher. So, $20 for 6 hours at the DCC (if I just sit there and watch the pool playing, and not go lose any money gambling at the casino).

Serious disconnect from reality here...It's refreshing to see that you have no idea what being poor really means. It goes to show that things aren't always as bad as they seem... I'll give you $200 shipped for your cue, plus I'll throw in the fact that while you're at the Derby, I'll be busting my ass at work.

My offer is serious.

You can light $260 on fire anywhere

Lol, at least I would know that the money would probably be going to one of my favorite players. That is better then lighting it on fire, right? Plus, I might have a chance to draw one of them (slim chance, but a chance). I would hope that they would be playing rack your own though, because I could not possibly rack the balls to their high standards.

Yeah, no matter how bad a person thinks he or she has it, things can always get worse (in more ways then one). Gosh, if I had not just spent $37 on a ferrule and tip replacement (for that ugly looking black ferrule that was on one of the shafts), then I would have probably accepted your offer. I am grateful for your offer though (because I am thinking that you do not actually want the cue anyways). You are the 1 single person that has offered me anything for the cue. Sorry to hear that you have a hard job (from the sound of it). I will go to the DCC for 6 hours on Saturday. I do not know anyone, and will be alone, but I still think it will be a nice experience. Will go check out some nice custom cues (that I will never be able to afford in my lifetime, but will be cool to see), and hang out by myself and watch the tournament. To be honest, I really felt like a fool, and very out of place in the DCC crowd last year. It was like the feeling of being at a party that I was not invited to, that was filled with celebrities.

Tell me what you look like so if you show-up i can scram. Seriously, you have described yourself variously as a whiner, cheap and now a loner out of sorts at a pool tournament. Either you've been jacking with us all along or you may outta seek some couch time with a shrink.

i tend to get sucked in to these threads n obviously I read every page lol but I won't speak to Justin sounds like he won't listen or is stuck in his ways hopefully because of lazyness or possible depression or something that can be fixed or attended to with help but I fear this gentleman is who he is n won't change butttttttt the reason I commented was I saw something about charities donating only 10% n just wanted to mention a "charity" poker room,at least in Delaware before the casinos opened out of Atlantic city, had to donate 51% to be considered charity but I remember them making like 10000 a week with like one boss and dealers essentially only paid by tips so yea the guy made serious cash while it lasted.
N still helped out charities at the same time so it was a win win

Yeah, I am a cheap, whining loner. Who cares? If I go to the Derby, it will be to just watch pool. No need to scram due to me being there. I would not be bothering you, and I would not be a threat to anyone. I would just be the shy guy sitting by himself (watching his favorite pool players). No big deal.

Justin. I will not be at the DCC this time....but watch one match and give us a report.

And if you can dig up the nerve...walk up to Alex and tell him PT says to buy you a drink.

...I $&@#% dare you....Alex will treat you well.

If you are this poor, your favorite player should be you. So keep the money in your pocket, there are plenty of very good players that will donate to the great players :p

LOL. He's not LYING Justin. Just do it !! Get a photo and send it in. Ask him for a piece of Magic Chalk as well, tell him RJ said it's OK. Have him autograph the cube as well !!!

Justin,
You seem like a sad person for some reason...Who is perpetually making poor decisions...almost on purpose in order to receive sympathy..Dude don't go to the DCC....keep the cue....get a job and work your way up...Right now any job is better than no job....work hard be prudent and good things will happen...learn to drive and get a drivers license if you have a car or not...Focus on the things that will improve your life because a pool cue is a 5 min high and then you are just trying to recreate the fix...Not being ugly just trying to place you in the real world.

I would love to meet Alex. I am afraid I would act goofy and be speechless though, lol. I seem him talking to a fan (I think) last year, and he seemed really nice, and very cool. I did chat with the guy who was at the entrance (who checked peoples passes) for awhile. He was really cool. He said he was the brother of the owner of Diamond tables, and helped set up all the tables. I wish I could get up the nerve to walk up and say anything to Alex.

"I never learned to drive" ?

I really might have fallen for the rest of it, had you not said that.

"I had to walk uphill in the snow both ways"
"I'm very poor"
"I never learned to drive"
"my momma is in prison"

....and wait for it:

"I never really knew my father "

Free Po-Man tip 0' the day:
Pawn yo cue and buy a bicycle. (and a 40)
Go git a job fo one week, den go git yo cue back from the pawn shop. ( and buy a 40)
