Recovering Side Pocket Rails

Here's a couple examples of my work.

On the right is a Valley rail recovered in Championship Invitational cloth. I'm able to stretch the cloth without using the"hospital wrap" as I've seen it called here, I call it the Christmas present wrap. Stretched with no folds is how Valley ships them from the factory.

On the left is a Diamond rail recovered in Simonis 860 using the fold method as they ship them from their factory.

I've tried the stretch method with 860 and it's possible but leaves unsightly stretch marks. I've come to the same conclusion apparently as Diamond that the fold method is best for 860.

Comments, opinions on this subject? Critique's?

Show the valley rail looking at it from the top side, as well as the back side and show the bottom of the Diamond rail.
 
Here's an Valley rail streched in 860. Been on there 2 years. Not real happy with the strech marks. As you can see, it can be done.

The stretch marks are because 1, you're not stretching the cloth end to end and 2, you're using staples the full length of the rails instead of my spray glue method I demonstrated in the Simonis DVDS. Also when you stretch the cloth around the nose of the cushions on the valley rails to avoid using a fold several things happen 1, the cloth is pulled so tight is compresses the nose of the cushions 2, the compressed nose of the cushions gives the side pockets a snooker finish....put a straight edge on the facing from the back to front and you'll see its rounded out 3, the cloth pulled tightly over the point of the facings causes the cloth to wear through right at the point of the facings before the rest of the cloth wears out.
 
And straight down at the end of the side pocket....I want to get a look at the curve of the facing.

Lol, i knew you'd have a heyday with that one. As I said earlier, I wasn't happy with it myself and as eluded to in my came to the conclusion comment, I won't be trying it again, it was an experiment. I guess I'm just not a big fan of the Christmas present method.
I have not seen your dvd but that is the glue down method. You are correct about the nose being compressed as a result of me trying to stretch the 860 and the strech marks are also a result of that. I know what you mean about the cloth wearing out at the point of the facings prematurely, but is it obvious in the pic? It's been on there two years.
So you would agree that only the fold method is appropriate for 860? Have you ever tried the stretch method with 860? Thanks for the feedback.

I can do either method with any cloth, but only one way turns out right....so why bother distorting the rail facing and cushions at the side pockets....what exactly is the gain to not have a fold there. If having a fold in the side pockets works for all rails that are featherstriped.....then why not for Valleys too?
 
I do have the Simonis factory dvd. Is this you? If so, then i have seen it.

Is the championship invitational cloth a super terrible bad choice in quality?
Is it carpet like? I just need something durable and affordable, not carpet slow to suggest for a local bar who's trying to upgrade the tables a tad without going full simonis or championship equivalent.

Mercury Ultra is better and not too pricey.
