differences with top/back spin on simonis vs napped cloth?

I'm finding that on a high quality napped cloth the likes of which you would find on say a Chinese 8 ball table or high end snooker table, the cue ball essentially "grips" better upon contact with the object ball

I'm finding this initial better grip ultimately gives me more overall travel with the cue ball than on faster simonis

also, more pronounced english off the rails and again, longer travel times

very unscientific findings of course, anybody have any insight on this?

what are the true benefits to simonis over high quality napped cloths?
 
I have Simonis 860 on my home table. I think it plays great and the cue ball is easier to move with top spin and draw. I do think the top spin tends to skid slightly before taking when it is hit hard.
On a separate note, when I clean the table and polish the balls it is amazing...the balls break better, the English and spin takes more, it's just great.

Assuming the cue ball arrives with the same spin at the object ball, the speed of the cue ball after the draw takes will be influenced only very slightly by the ball-cloth friction. (I think "ball cloth friction" is what you mean by "grips".)

I think you need to measure the speed of the cloth on both tables. That's pretty simple to so.

easier said than done though, table/cloth speed sure but friction?

I'd have to nail the same shots with the same spin each time through lots of trial and error to get anywhere close to ascertaining results
