Hohmann loses to Ko because of the Cyclop balls

Pool players have to use the balls at the tournament. We don't have a choice. I'd love to take a poll and ask the top 100 players on which ball is better. It's not even close. I like the Centennials best with a measle ball. I don't know about the Tawainese, Chinese or Filipinos but I know almost EVERY American player likes Aramiths better than Cyclop.

Yes, indeed.

I tried to say this but I had to come up with a Google search, quotes, unedited video....as requested by Lou.

He won't believe anything other than what he cooks up in his own head.

Aramith = normal pool
Cyclop = you never know what's gonna happen

I already posted this once, here it is again.

http://www.azbilliards.com/news/stories/11258-setting-the-record-straight-on-aramith-phenolic-balls-for-billiards-pool-and-all-cuesports/

Also, I highly doubt someone not working with Aramith has direct access to the formula they are using. He may have not been lying outright, but if he only found 57% resin content in Aramith balls with aramith claiming 98%, it is more likely that his testing procedure was flawed.

Well first off, that's not necessarily from Ivan Lee personally, it's a company PR press release.

Second, you don't need access to formulas, all you all you need are a set of balls which can be lab analyzed.

Third, as I've previously said, what you have are competing market place claims and until there is an independent lab test there is no definitive word.

There is a difference between which ball is better and which ball people like or are used to.

If you've spent most of your life playing with Centennials, you're going to like them, Aramiths, the same, and some day when guys have been playing with Cyclop for years, they'll like those. You like the measles CB but plenty of guys like the RC CB better than the measles ball. It is not necessarily which is better, it's a preference. It's pretty much what happened when Diamond tables came out -- banked short, rolled off at the end rails, shelf cut different. But the company made improvements and now it's generally considered the industry standard and they're everywhere.

Personally, I'm not sure how you can say a ball that is made to higher tolerances, plays more consistently, and stays cleaner is not the better ball, but that's just me.

It's Chinese, simple as that.

people will hate on a Chinese product swearing in good US quality, typing on Chinese made keyboard, looking in Chinese made screens with Chinese made hardware, seen it here one too many times.

Except you have no data to back that up.

And the other guy who offered his opinion on pool balls' playability is a professional player.

And the Aramith rep already shot down the false claim.
If you believe the Centennials have 43% fillers, you'd believe all claims.

The Aramith rep countered the other competitor's claims more than 2 years ago.
Show use where they analyzed the Aramith balls and make a counter claim.

Except they are Belgian products.
Which Mercedes cost more in China?
The German made ones or the Chinese made ones?
Which table is better ? Diamond or Rasson?
Which cloth is better ? Simonis or Andy?
Which Moori is better ? The original Japan made one or the China made one?

Quit playing the bias card.

So Cyclop balls are Belgian?

That's new.

No, Aramiths are not US made. They are not good ole US quality

The cyclop rep is the one who claimed they use US technology.
The good ole US was a sarcastic remark not directed at Aramiths.

The Cyclop people worked with people at Diamond closely on the colors and cue ball, I believe it had something to do with optical density and sensors used in Diamond tables, maybe that's what they meant.

They are still a Chinese product though.

And the pro players couldn't care less where they are made.
Most of them don't even know where Aramiths are made from.

It has been cited here several times that the weight and size of the Cyclop balls have been measured as being more consistent through many sets of balls.

And the pro player said he liked the measles CB too. If Aramiths are so great why don't he like the Aramith red logo CB that is matched with the Aramith Super Pro balls and comes with the set?

And again, nothing has been shot down. There are competing claims. Who has the best tip? Who's got the lowest deflection shaft? Who has better nation-wide coverage?

Competing claims.

According to what I've been told, they did -- using the knowledge (and I believe even some of the original equipment) of the US guy who made the Hyatt balls.

Great. There goes the bias card out the window .
Their own rep is letting people know ( according to him anyway ) they used US Technology to make the product.
The US Technology must have been better then.

Because the measel ball has more dots and u can see it spin. Or whatever.

And the point here is you were going nuts when Jay and one other person said they prefer to play with other cue ball or sets of balls. You wanted full documentation. Now, one pro came out and flat out said 95% of the pros prefer the other balls. Then you go on downplaying it as another man's opinion.
Great, then don't ask for their opinions.

Efren has told me himself he prefers the "yellowish" cue ball. Didn't even the brand but we know it's the red circle. That after he was shooting at Hard Times and had a hard time drawing the ball accurately.
Would you like a documentation on that too?

Lou, give it up.
Let it die.
You're not helping cyclop. You bashed two people making claims. Hounded Jay.
Then Justin Bergman put his 2 cents in. Then you pull this " they better be careful with their words b/c there might be consequences" . Then downplay it as another man's opinion.

There is a profound difference between proof/evidence and supposition/hearsay.

I can just as easily say 95% of the players I speak to prefer Centennials, or Cyclop, or Raschigs. There's no proof there, just someone guessing something about balls, aiming, chalk, sticks, tips, whatever.

Well go ahead, go make your claims.

They won't come out now because "they better be careful with their words...."
Then you go on with they're just used to brand A.

You're becoming like your favorite person in the world.
Can't wait for your youtube videos.

This is what the forum has become: 40 pages about balls that don't even roll straight, and with colours so ghastly you need a welders mask to look directly at them, and people defending them, DEFENDING them with the fact that they knocked off US technology!!!: How can you satirize anything that absurd?

I'll try:
Hey guys, I have this brand new business idea: I'm going to copy a FN model 1903 using the original blueprints, and I'm going to make it pink with green grips. I'll have it assembled in China by unwed mothers, who I'll fire once they reach 22 years of age. Naturally the gun will jam every 3 shots, but who cares? I ripped off a long dead American legend and a Belgian company simultaneously. That means you must love me, otherwise you hate America. I'm thinking about naming it the "Medusah" and then tearing into anyone who spells the name without the "h". Also Glock and other modern firearms companies are ripping you off, because they use polymer instead of metal, that will be my pitch.

They roll fine except for one instance that was corrected within 24 hours through extraordinary efforts of the company in question that wanted to make it right. Something you never see anywhere else in the pool world.

As to the colors: the Cyclop balls have been available in traditional colors for a long, long time. Get over it.

Lou Figueroa

I have 2 sets of cyclop balls. Only played with the traditional colors for about a month and they play great. Havent taken the skittles color out of the box yet.
