New John Bender!

Hello AZ,
John made me a cue in December of last year and we stayed in touch since that time. After he delivered the first cue, I told him if he ever got to Houston, I would be waiting to play some One Pocket! As it turns out, he was in town for a week or so, visiting some friends, we met up and played a few games of One Pocket. We didn't get to play long, as I was busy with work, so we only got a few games in and ended up even in games. He also brought a few cues to show me what he has been working on, as I looked through his cues, one really caught my eye. When it comes to cues, I'm a sucker for two things, Rosewood and Bushka style. First time I seen this cue, I fell in love! Normally I'm not too big on Abalone or Mother of Pearl, but it just went so good with the overall style of the cue, I was sold!

The particulars of the cue.
5/16x14 SS Piloted, Butt is 15.9oz, shafts are 4.4oz and 4.2oz, Coco into Birdseye, Bushka Rings, Brown with Black Spec Irish linen.

Played with this cue today and I usually don't prefer steel joint or that heavy of a cue, but this thing played awesome! It's well on the way to becoming my everyday player!
As I understand it, this cue has the same spec as Bushka and is obviously in that style. John told me this is his interpretation of what Bushka would have done if he ever worked with Coco. Thanks again John, I'm so honored to be able to own and play with this work of art!
If anyone out there is looking for a cuemaker, I can't say enough good things about Mr. Bender! IMO he is one of the best (and under rated) cuemakers working today, and an even better man. I would put his cues against anything made today! It's be a pleasure working with someone that takes so much pride in his work and does what he says he will do. This is the second cue that I have of his and I plan on having many more.

I sincerely dig that cue. :thumbup:

Nothing like old school.

Thanks for showing off! :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks, Chop!
Old School is always in style and classy!
I've only seen a few of his cues posted and would like to see more! He does great work.

Been playing with this monster for about a month now, and it is now my main player! Just a great cue, in anyone is thinking about getting a new cue built, you would be smart to give John the build!
