how do you guys maintain focus ?

Last night I was not going to league as the captain and I had an agreement that I only played every other week. I wanted to quit playing on that night because I am just playing much but hw talked mw into cutting back to every other week

Anyhow he asked me to pls last night because he was shorthanded. I did not have time to go home and change out of my work clothes or grab my cues so I borrowed my exgirfriends cues since I was at her house remodeling her bathroom.

So I go play with a predator with a 314/2 shaft whereas I play with a standard shaft. Surprisingly I played pretty good. Good enough to jump out to a 3-0 lead in a 4-4 race.

Then I just start shooting like crap. Poor position ...miss easy shots.its like I just lose interest in playing . I lose 4-3 and my opponent shot no better the last 4 racks than he did the first 3.

I tend to do this quite often and can't figure out why . Any suggestions. ?
 
Jerk off before any tournament...usually a lot of hot women around. Last tounament I was in I spent more time looking at the waitresses ass than the table.
 
Seriously am I the only one who has been distracted by some broad during a tournament? Why do you think women pool players skank it up so much? lol.

I struggle with this too. Tennis is the same way. I'll kill it at the beginning and somewhere in the middle I wake up and realize I have been just going through the motions and so I try to focus up and soon slip back into the motions until it's all over.

Happens to everybody. Best advice I ever got for it came from a great player named Gene Robinson. After a few bad shots, he asked what was wrong with me. I told him I didn't know, that I just couldn't seem to focus on anything. "I keep screwing up", I told him. He said, "Stop it." Lol. Then he said to treat each shot with respect, taking nothing for granted. It works.
 
Go purchase and read "The Inner Game of Tennis". It's a book about the mental side of sports performance - yes, it's directed towards tennis specifically, but absolutely relates to all sports.

It really helped me to understand how to stay calm and relax under both pressure situations and fatigue. It's a relatively quick and easy read, I recommend it! :thumbup2:

Self 1 & self 2! I also highly recommend this book!
 
Try to develop a short memory when it comes to missed shots. Find the spot, get down, follow through, stay down...the old "think about what you're doing now...not what you just did." Yeah, easier said than done.

You know, back when I was in my early teens, I thought some young women, say ages 19 through 26 could look incredibly hot. Now that I'm an old man of 73? My viewpoint hasn't changed...
