Little back info. In 2007 I quit pool due to severe back issues. Had surgery but never got back into playing until 3 years ago when my friends brother asked me to join his UPA league team. Was doing good but back really bad again, actually much worse than it was in 2007. Not to mention it's back, knee, foot & neck pain now along with a weight issue.

So I've been home on disability since the middle of January & to not kill myself from boredom I play an in house league on Thursday night & do a $5 mini 8 ball tourney on Tuesdays at the same bar that my LO or I run, all hopped up on pain meds, which I only try to use if I'm going out.

Back to the boredom, since I have tons of free time I'm always on the internet looking at pool related items because I love collecting cues. I mainly collect customs & actually have 4 on order that should all be in my hands within the next calendar year.

So when I can't sleep at 3am & I'm looking online I keep reading about the Revo Shaft & all it's pro's & con's. Mind you I'm not a LD shaft kind of guy, I like my Maple shaft with 1" Ivory Ferrules. Got to try the 12.9mm Revo one night at league as Scott Lee was staying at one of his buddies houses for a few days that happens to shoot in my league. Shot like complete crap with it that night & wasn't thrilled with the thickness as I like 12.5mm down to 11.65mm shafts.

Expo rolls around and they announce 12.4mm Revo & I keep debating about it. Wouldn't mind giving it a try since it's been discussed a ton. So one morning at 5am I say screw it and buy the SP2Revo2 with the 12.4mm from Seyberts.com & don't have to pay a dime until a month later figuring I'd have sold it before that 1st payment was due. Come to my surprise I actually enjoy it & am still using it every week for now.

Now last Thursday around 3am I'm awake & bored again & can't fall asleep, so I go on the seyberts site again & purchase another 12.4mm Revo with the black sport 2 butt with the sports grip & get the tip changed to a Samsara break/Jump. Figure most break cues are 13mm & I want to try breaking with the Revo & 12.4mm matching my liking better. Cue gets delivered to me on Monday, great I can give it a go in the Tuesday tourney.

Back to my back issues, breaking really torches my back pain so normally I just let my opponents break every match on tourney night so I can save myself for the league match on thursday to break on the alternating games. But last night to everyone's surprise I lag for each match & people are stunned. I win the lag of my 1st match & rack & get to try out my new break cue.

Never in my life in the thousands of 8 ball breaks I've taken have I been fortunate enough to make the 8 ball on the break, but I've also never tried the 2nd ball break either. I usually just line up about 4" to the right of the head string spot & hit the 1 ball square.

What do you know, I wind up & wham, smack the hell out of the rack & there goes my very 1st 8 ball break in the bottom left hand corner. I couldn't believe it, was amazed & all excited like a 5 year old for no good reason. For the rest of the night everyone was trying to get some breaks in with my new break cue. Now I just hope I can follow it up with a few more 8 ball snaps since it cost so much for the cue & feels nice getting a win in a few seconds.

I thought everybody knew....wanna make the eight on the break?...use a black shaft.
...wanna make the nine on the break?...use a yellow and white shaft.
...wanna make the ten on the break?...don't clean the chalk off.

Giving out all your secrets now? ;)

They do break well. I'm pretty sure predator is about to come out with a revo "break" shaft and/or cue though. Luckily I got try out one of the prototype revo break shafts on my bk3 and it hit great+sounded amazing. I just don't know if I want to shell out that much for a "break" shaft.

Well I guess I just shelled out $710 plus $19 for a tip change on a new break cue, so if there are major changes on the break than what I just put together I can sell this & get that possible, but right now I'm pretty happy with the new set up.

I told you Greg. Keep fresh batteries in you cue. I have been using ever ready.
We get paid tonight. If we all put our winnings together we can buy a group cue
