Thanks,

Charity auction for the cue has ended and $325 is gifted (50% of proceeds) to BEF. However, eBay charity auctions go thru PayPal Giving Fund as the intermediary, and I don't know when the Giving Fund will disburse funds to BEF. I will PM you separately with a copy of the paid invoice to the Giving Fund as evidence and hope you will still match this donation.

The purpose for this thread is to rally support for the Billiard Education Foundation (BEF). This is a good time of year to do this since the BEF will be hosting the Junior Nationals Tournament in Vegas August 2-5, 2017. This event can't happen every year without financial support.
To help provide encouragement to people to contribute, Bob Jewett, Jay Helfert, Jeremiah Gage, Tom Riccobene, and I will match all AZB contributions up to a total of $2500 ($500 each) between now and the end of June, 2017.
The BEF is a great organization and a good "cause." They supports numerous Junior State Championships and the Junior National Championships, and they sponsor juniors to attend the WPA World Junior Championships. The BEF also encourages juniors to stay in school and further their education while building and maintaining a lifelong love of billiards through the “Pool In School” program. For more information, visit the BEF website.
To contribute and trigger a match from me, Bob, Jay, and Jeremiah, make your contribution on the BEF donation page and post your amount here (or send me a PM if you prefer to remain anonymous). The BEF will verify the donated amounts and I will keep an updated total in this thread.
FYI, the BEF is a non-profit organization and your gift will qualify as a charitable donation, which you can claim as a tax deduction.
Please contribute whatever you can, even if it is only a few bucks.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for supporting the BEF. Young players are the future of pool and they need and deserve our support.
Best regards,
Dave, Bob, Jay, Jeremiah, and Tom

Worthy Cause
Thanks for the bumps guys. Hopefully, others will realize the worthiness of this cause.Just a quick shout-out to all the folks that have donated already and those members and guests of AZB taking a look at this thread for the first time....
[I see that only 17 of the 61,000+ members of AZB have chipped in - so far]
Please visit the BEF website that begins this support thread and see if you can encourage your fellow friends and forum pals to donate even $5 which will get a matching amount from the 5 fine fellows leading the way ---- as we all know, these young kids are one of the very best ways to encourage others to partake in this great realm of cue sports worldwide. One kid can easily influence 10 others when doing something enjoyable and challenging and competitive. Every dollar donated helps immeasurably.
I will be out this next week and through the end of the month asking everyone I know on this forum and everywhere else I have contacts and connections to see about encouraging others to help in any way they can and lead by example.
Won't you all do the same?
Wishing everyone a great weekend ahead!
