So was Corey with his soft break but you took that away from him pretty quick.

You are using 2 names to argue the points you want.

Supergeniosity.

And your point about coreys break...while it was an option, he used it. Whent is became outlawed, he didnt. Nothing to see here, ramhole.

The things you want rid of have not been outlawed, so they remain available. Plus, the arguement could be made they have been considered by rulemakers and determined acceptable.

Thanks, you've just proved my entire argument.

This should be a foul ball in hand. You see players do this sometimes when mapping out their shape.

Example: https://youtu.be/oL5BpjGvKWI?t=9m09s

Foul!
You posted a nine minute vid, maybe mark the time the foul occurred?

Amazing how this thread went down the rabbit hole, well, not really, its azb.

I pulled this thread up hoping to see a conversation on tips marking the table. In league this v thing came up last year.

So when a player sets the cue tip behind an object ball, who is to say the tip marked the table? When playing league there are marks all over the cloth.

I've seen players freshly chalk and then do it. It would seem that would leave a mark. I tried it at home and found it difficult to mark the table.

Anyone ever call that foul?

Look at the link...the time is part of it. It takes you right to the moment. You guys are the ones who post links wrong by just posing the general yt link and then posting the time to look for...so we have to jump around the video trying to find the exact spot. Excuse my for using youtube video sharing the way it was intended.

I hope that you do not think that Brags and my Cousin Poolkillers are the same person!
He is very proud of the Ram Shot he invented and would not like that you are using it in a derogatory manner to demean people.

When I tapped it, did not take me straight to the foul. I'll try again.

This thread is right up there for the "dumbest of the year" award. Tapping the cloth with your tip? A ball in hand foul? Really? :rotflmao1: :scratchhead: :outtahere:

That entire pamphlet is worthless. The "ram shot" has to be the MOST INSANE piece of pool advice in the history of the game. Well, at least up until the Brags dude started his rule change nonsense.

My Cousin Poolkillers would disagree.
People follow the advice given in the Book "A Beginners Guide to Playing 8 Ball" all the time.
You see people playing the way he does in pool halls across America.
Just look at the videos I posted.

That book started the growth spurt in Pool during the 80's and 90's not that bad pool movie TCOM! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hC0HdfCgeAQ

I didn't read this entire thread but I think people just need to be less sensitive about something so minor as something like pointing your cue. Unless you take out a pool marker and stick it on the table, no infraction has occurred in my mind. Even then, I'm not sure that would help me that much. You still know in your head where you are trying to put the cue ball.

NO no no you don't. These are legit things I think need to be taken out of pool.

  • The tip thing is marking the table.
  • You should not be able to use your cue as a measuring device.
  • Chinese 8 ball and snooker don't have diamonds.
  • Lots of people think jump cues should go.
  • The rest/rake is used to get you out of a bad positional play...get rid of it.

I don't get it....WHY do you want to take "legit" things out of pool?

I'd think illegitimate things should be the first to go.
