i booked a room thursday and friday this week. seen it was changed to end of october well that just cost me over 300 dollars for a room and took a week vaction:frown:

I, too, just discovered the shift in dates. I never saw any announcement about the shift on AzB. The WPS event now seems to be scheduled for Oct. 31 - Nov. 3, which is right on top of the dates that had been listed for the Steinway Classic. Whether the Steinway Classic has been dropped entirely for this year, I don't know. But moving the World Pool Series to those dates, right after the US Open 9-Ball Championship, should certainly work better for enabling non-USA players to play in both of these bigger-money events.
 
Fantastic job WPS, I feel bad for you guys losing money and vacation time over this, thats really a $hitty thing for them to do. If you are going to change dates they should be doing it 3-4 months before the tournament and everyone signed up should be notified by them.
 
So, if I understand, there is no tournament this week? It is moved to the end of oct?
 
Par for the course for Pool. Unfortunate. Everyone makes things up as they go. Change dates on a whim. Players decide the day of if they are going, and then pay cash at the registration window.

Zuglan got a lot of heat from Cleary for his practice of no refunds. But you will never see him change a date and cost fans money like this. Long live Zuglan with his iron clad policies. That’s the only way to herd the pool cats, I mean players.
 
Everyone that paid got an email a month ago at least telling everyone because of the storms and a couple other reasons they were changing dates. They were also helping with all the travel and refunding people that didn't want to play now.
